I WONDER

I wonder about those who will vote for Kamala.

What do they see in her? She was the Border Czar,

But she is in denial of this and blames the invasion

On former President Trump. She and Joe cut energy

Production causing shortages and inflation and joblessness.

She has a tough time answering softball questions and often

Wanders off into a word salad explanation, often in a

Filibuster method. She wants to turn the page, but it would

Be on herself and Joe as they have been in charge for almost

Four years. Donald, before her, accomplished close to a hundred

Creditable things even while being thwarted many times along

The way. She turned the page on him as they cancelled many

Of his accomplishments on their day one. She slanders Trump.

She misinterprets words that he uttered.

She can’t think of anything she would change

That she and Joe did. How can people living

From paycheck-to-paycheck put their trust in her?

Seniors and young couples are struggling. Rents

Are higher and houses unaffordable. Why would

They want her when Donald will raise the standard

Of living for everyone and his tax cuts brought more

Money into the treasury than before. He will finish

Closing the border. One candidate wants to destroy

Our country. The other candidate, Donald Trump

Wants to save it. Marxism under Kamala will take us

Over the cliff.

HOPING IT IS TRUE

It won’t be long

Before we know

What our fate will be

Tyranny or will we be free?

Just a few weeks

And then we’ll know

Did America wake up

And we begin to grow

Will we close the border

Or keep it open

Increase energy production?

That is what we are hoping

May we stop indoctrination

Turn our country back to God

If we don’t find our way

We would be better off under sod

We do not know the future

Or how many ticks on the clock

I want to be like the lamb

A follower in His flock

There is still so much to do

And maybe too little time

But if the outcome is favorable

Then we all could be fine

Money usually talks, but

There is also persuasion

If the light out shines the dark

We can put evil on vacation.

WE MAKE OUR CHOICE

Red leaves hanging on the trees

Swing around in the morning breeze.

The sun shines through the branches

Keeps us safe now from the freeze.

Cardinals dancing is what I think

Fluttering and singing to start the day.

I laugh at the mirage that has been given

Knowing it’s not the way cardinals play.

It is not how men operate either

Some are confused by which way

They must make a decision.

It is their duty to have a say,

But confusion can still reign

Falsehoods and slanting the news prevail

The extent of conniving and payoffs is sad.

Some so bad; the people should be in jail.

Promises made on what she will do

With no explanations of how.

Good people tend to seek the truth.

They would like the answers right now.

Her promises are empty and lies will not do.

More taxes and handouts don’t fly.

Which way is she taking the country?

The direction should make you cry.

Follow the truth; follow the truth

Donald Trump was successful before

If he loses to his hysterical foe

We will be hurting forever to the core

So when we make our choice

Remember what we have at stake.

Freedom as we know it or control

Choose freedom for goodness sake.

OCTOBER SUNDAY MORNING

Sunday morning

Bears win in England

A third of October gone

The sun is shining

Leaves are glowing

From green to purple

Birds who leave are gone

Still, many birds remain

There is music

The beauty alone is a song

Lake Michigan has its beat

Pumpkins appear in large

Numbers in the neighborhoods

The smell of the season

Is in the air

We know the year is ending

It is a time for meditation

And thanksgiving

The world is in chaos, but

Still there is much to be

Thankful for as we know

We prepare for winter and

In the meantime enjoy

God’s gift of beauty

We are lucky people in many way

HUNGER PANGS

Around supper hour

   Marking the end of day

A lot of scampering takes place

Because there was too much play

Sweeping under the proverbial rug

   We pout and point

Exclaim:  Not enough work and

   Just look at this joint

We all suffer that feeling

   A personal form of guilt

Then we try to tear apart

   What someone else has built

We neglected what we had to do

Took a needless trip into town

Thought there’s always tomorrow

Why let this get me down

There are still a few hours

   Before we go to bed

Pare the chore list to where

We’re in the black and not the red

Tomorrow will be a much better

We will start with new resolve

Outcomes will be splendid

   Today’s neglect will be absolved

And back to hunger pangs

Do we know what they are?

We live in luxury and excess

Compared to real strife

There is nothing close to par

Our discards would be treasures

So easy for us to provide if only

We give up some of our pleasures

Truth is the startling arbitrator

From it we cannot hide

We know the things we must do

If the hungry are to survive

What do we have to lose?

When we have such excess

If we faced these precious souls

Would we not caress?

WOEFUL CONDITION

What is wrong with these blacks?

Where can they possibly go?

Always exist with one eye open

Too bright to let it be closed

Pushed to the back of the bus

Told they were the lowest of us

Many rose above destiny

Like Rosa Parks, would you not agree?

Lived lives which made them proud

Still many waited below the clouds

Depression, suppression, and no jobs

Low income housing cursed them out loud

Government programs came to relieve

Only capped potential so it seemed

Trillions poured into relief

Made conditions worse is my belief

Government pay off to remain quiet

Just the opposite occurred — terrible riots

Stay single, receive larger checks

Family breakdowns, potential is wrecked

I hear applause, this is the truth

To listen and agree, nothing to lose

They have told me:  their eyes are not shut

Enduring condition is not what they strut

Educational need acknowledged,

So, too, parental enhancement

Individual pride preached

The pride to advancement

My eyes are open and I saw their need

Help the down trodden has become my creed

IDEAS ON HOW TO LIVE

1. After spending a lifetime loving my parents, siblings, spouse, children, and friends—I’ve finally started loving myself.

2. I’ve realized that I am not “Atlas.” The world doesn’t rest on my shoulders.

3. I no longer haggle with vegetable or fruit vendors. A few extra pennies won’t hurt me, but it might help them save for their daughter’s school fees.

4. I always leave my waitress a generous tip. That little extra might bring a smile to her face as she works hard for her living.

5. I’ve stopped telling the elderly that they’ve already repeated that story. It allows them to relive their precious memories.

6. I no longer feel the need to correct people, even when I know they’re wrong. It’s not my job to make everyone perfect—peace is far more valuable than perfection.

7. I freely give compliments. They lift the mood of both the giver and receiver. And remember, if you receive one, never turn it down—just say “Thank you.”

8. A crease or spot on my shirt? I don’t sweat it anymore. Personality speaks louder than appearances.

9. I’ve learned to walk away from people who don’t value me. They may not know my worth, but I do.

10. I stay calm when others try to outrun me in life’s rat race. I am not a rat, and I’m not racing.

11. I’m no longer embarrassed by my emotions—they’re what make me human.

12. I’ve learned that it’s better to drop the ego than to break a relationship. Ego isolates, but relationships keep you connected.

13. I live each day as if it could be my last, because one day, it just might be.

14. And lastly, I’m doing what makes me happy. I’m responsible for my happiness, and happiness is a choice you can make at any moment.

Why wait until we’re 60, 70, or 80 to start living this way? Let’s practice these lessons now, at any age.

WHAT I HOPE FOR

It is not any one person or political

Party, but my confidence is in

Almighty God through faith in His Son,

Jesus Christ. I want to share the truth

Not only of the day, but of the Bible

And all of His love and salvation

Now and in the future. I put my trust

In Him and not the media which

Presents bias and lies. We must

Ignore the media especially in this

Election and know that how we vote

Will have implications for our freedom

And welfare. There is much evil and

Many lies and false interpretations

Like we have seen frequently in recent

Years and elections. We must pray for

Our nation and our leaders, even the

Evil ones. We must vote for our future.

If you like the last four years, then vote

For Kamala. If you preferred the way

We had it, by the grace of God, the

Previous four years then you should

Vote for Donald Trump, who led us to

Be great again. Many of his policies

Were upended by the Biden-Harris

Administration.
