DO YOU FEEL THE LOVE

There is much love in the air
But it will not affect the outcome
When the enemy has the upper hand
Relatives will be heart-broken and lonesome
All the promises made mean nothing
Appears to be part of the greater plan
Break down all of the American ideals
Then trying to look good while heads are in the sand
The talking heads are in wonder
How could everything go so wrong?
These water carriers are part of the problem
Now they are rejecting reality and sing a new song
We deny the truth as the country is failing
Making decisions leading to our demise 
So many are standing by in wonder
Will they wake up to a terrible surprise?
The love is meaningless when
We are facing this apparent failure
Tears and more tears - non-stop
No expectation of “leaders” to open their eyes
The Father above sent us His Son
And we were told what we should do
We neglected to follow His precepts
One is down and now we wait for the other shoe
God help us; forgive us; show us the way
We have been pathetic in following You
Our love has been miss-directed and again
We need Your guidance on what to do
