TRYING TO TEACH

How far are you going to run?

Because I don’t give a damn

I may be slower, but I’ll track you

Find out you’re what kind of man

Sure you talk loud as if that mattered

You are big, and bully when you can

But quiet down, when you meet a man

Who could brush you into a dust pan

Have you heard of kindness man?

Have you heard of love?

Not too bad of a combination

Will take you far, if you don’t ration

Look me in the eye, if you’re not a coward

I can lead you to new heights

The journey will not be an easy one

You’ll have your share of fights

And find out that times have changed

We abide by law and order

And yes you are a big man

No guarantee that you’ll be bolder

Just stay in line; behave

Follow the path made by others

Don’t seek credit, just for being

You’re one of us; we all have mothers

Try to be real; try to touch

Make and effort; it isn’t much

Go uphill man; a difficult go

Show your courage; take a punch

Victory is personal and not make believe

You are the only one you can deceive

Hang in there; you’re on the right level

Move fast; away from the clutch of the devil
