Ancient, recent, and words not recorded
I wonder about the sum-total meaning,
And the influence they have or may have had
One sees a world in constant conflict
Has there ever been a period of peace?
We know about 3500 years of history
Less than 300 have been at peace
Millions have been killed in the 20th century
How much genius was eliminated by death,
before it could be brought to fruition?
It is amazing that potential brilliance was lost
Minds with answers were destroyed in wars
Our constitution has been working for many years.
History shows that it has been chipped over
the years in ways that did not seem too dangerous
There are mechanisms built into the document
which has kept it flexible to our advantage
We have politicians who are ignoring it.
They wish to replace our inalienable rights to
life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness with
Socialism which provides everything equally
To everyone without any accounting about
How this could possible come to pass.
They want open borders, health care, education,
Food and housing for everyone for free
These would be basic rights provided by
The Marxist Socialist government which
Has never worked wherever tried
The ancients, I am sure, would question
The possibility of socialism working
Recently a Green Peace Founder proclaimed
The whole movement was a farce, an operation
Designed to enrich those involved. We watch
California burn and wonder why. Millions of
Gallons of water go into the ocean to save a
Delta smelt and salmon runs. This, at what
cost to agriculture. How have we gone so wrong?
The erudite: So wrong; so foolish
