Nature gives us gifts everyday A winter sunset reflects many Colors over the southern waters Of the beautiful Inland Sea Leaving us in awe of the almighty Who gives us many opportunities We may help others in need Often we ignore the situation Because we are too busy Looking after our own interests There could easily be a time When we are in the position Of needing help --- always expecting That our needs will be met What if they are not --- then What do we do? Cry out to The creator who could easily Say where were you when Help was needed by others We must learn to be generous Giving of ourselves and our gifts Empties us so that we may Be filled again. REMOVE THE STIGMA
What are we doing? Standing by while depression is causing a rise in suicides While the use of illegal drugs Is causing a huge rise in deaths And we tend to stigmatize the victim Where are our leaders? Why are we not talking or Bringing the problems into the open? In a sense we would be helping them We must come together Promote leaders who know the answers Problems exist which can be corrected Solutions take a lot of work But we must embrace the afflicted Let them know there are other ways Do we have the courage to do this? Are we letting our chance go away? Everyone is worth saving We must do all that we can do Remove the stigma of addiction Show love toward those afflicted We plead for those in power To speak out with humility We all have our disposition But reality demands us to address By the grace of God Let us move forward Stanski February 19, 2021 ^
GOODNESS DURING A TWO YEAR PERIOD
People I knew for just A short period of time Were taken from me By the angels of the Father Each known for about a two year period And a delightful time it was We had discussions and Differences existed, but None that were not overcome Because there were no agendas I learned from them all I think they learned from me One took an afternoon to help me Select a small used farm tractor Later when I was leaving town I thought of stopping by to say hello When I returned I realized that I missed my chance as he was called Another, an artist, was forced to Move to Washington State as things Were not working well for him here He said he had lost everything, but Supplies were sent to him so He could begin all over once more Depression overcame any ambition I was happy to hear from him, but Knew his end was near Three of the others were ministers We shared and embraced the truth Deteriorating health caused their end I felt enriched by having known them We are all here for just a speck of time And encounter people who come and go It is a gift to have a few we behold If only for a few months or years My bride gave me two years to card for her She was terminal, dying of cancer It was her greatest gift to me Her grace and joy, like the others Were gifts that I will always treasure I know that I am a lucky man Stanski February 18, 2021 ^

Generators require sun or fuel What do we do when we have neither? LATE AFTERNOON NAP
I woke after a nap Saw a lone star in the evening sky Earlier I saw the reflection of the sun In the now calm water of Lake Michigan With the real sun above it appeared as a double sun Another beautiful gift from nature Before that my snow-blower started I was able to clear seven inches of snow From my drive and parking area The county driver left a pile two feet high Three feet wide and twelve feet long My machine took care of the special gift Day was bright as the sun was shining Sky was blue without clouds The job was daunting but I persevered I didn’t quit but thought of others who Quit on their commitment to us There is a cost to destructive policy The Wuhan Virus information is available but not released Why are we protecting the Chinese controlled WHO? Why are we giving them money which we have to borrow? We fall in line and do nothing to confront the threat Like the star we are the lone remaining hope Our real leader was stripped away from us Now we open our borders and pass out valentines We stop construction of the border wall Promised to President Reagan over 32 years ago We stop construction of the Keystone Pipe Line Costing us nearly 70,000 good paying jobs We stop fracking on federal property costing more jobs The cost of electricity and gasoline escalates There is a promise of increased taxes and Other job killing policies The lone star is not shining too brightly Stanski February 15, 2021 ^
CUTTING FOR LIGHT
Life could be so easy if only you had a pair of scissors that could cut off those scraggly parts and seemingly get things in order. A good pair of scissors; that’s all it would take. Then happiness would fall right into line. Why do things have to be so complicated? Where is the order that I was looking for? Complications weren’t meant for me. Why should I have a bunch of obstacles to work with? Don’t I have enough to do? So what’s the answer? tHThere is no answer. Life goes on. You deal with opportunities. You deal with the problems. They can both be the same thing. Attitude is a big part of the equation. Easiness is something you find in fairy tales. In real life the road takes twists and turns which open up new beginnings. The seasons change. We too must be prepared for change. When you know this then you know what life is. Acceptance will usually follow unless you look at road blocks as problems. Somehow things in life balance out and moving forward can and will be blissful and peaceful. Seek the light. Search for the truth. Be aware of wonder. I have voted for Democrats I have voted for Republicans I have no party I am a conservative deplorable I wonder why Democrats are so angry I wonder why Education is being reinvented I wonder why gender is being reassembled I wonder why conservatives are being censored Are there any valid answers Why are some Republicans RINOs? We are told by many of possibilities We look at those telling this story They are the well-connected; Already in power and usually Indebted to power brokers because They have sold their souls They sit at the table where decisions Are made and make their choices as Instructed by those who own them This is not what America should be These people will ultimately fail We can do the unthinkable We are a nation of faith We have been lied to by those we voted for Have lost jobs because of their decisions Have opened our border to illegals They cannot be retained or released to Mexico We have promised them housing, food and health care This is while millions of Americans are struggling We must keep our faith and have undaunted courage There is power in the number of people who believe In spite of the odds we must persevere In spite of the odds we must join to fight What lies in front of us seems insurmountable Our forefathers faced down and defeated their enemies We can do the same with our ideas, courage and will Stanski February 11, 2021 ^
THE SPIRIT IN THE SKY
The oneness of us all Does not have any influence When we point out our diversities How different are we From each other could be the question What is our number? Would be the answer Yet, we have one sun, giving light On one day, which will have rhythms Different for each of us who Have our own politics, religion, and methods But, none-the-less will answer to and be watched over By that Spirit in the sky, today and all days When did we become so arrogant, elevating ourselves As individuals or collectives to a superior position Than those who have come before? We have the same stars and moons The ocean tides change the same Days begin and end like birth and death Who can proclaim aloneness or credit when So many came together to advance our state of being Relying on the grace of the Holy Spirit We proclaim and draw swords, divide and conquer Live wretched lives that have no ethic and in this midst The Spirit, somehow, moves us forward and allows us error What is life? If we have seen the seasons we have seen life Pockets are picked while a pickpocket hangs at the gallows When will we learn what is important? The Spirit waits, Does not intervene. We have free will.
