Tell me another lie Joe-Joe There is no reason We can’t do this Whisper softly This is the USA Where everything Is possible If only we unite Come together Work together Then Everything is going To be all right Smile, Joe-Joe Your famous flash Then get serious This is for all of us Where were you Don’t tell me The Crime Bill One thing You accomplished To help those You profess to love While patting your way With a velvet glove Let’s work together For all the people And, oh my gosh I don’t mean to be rash Don’t forget your mask Stanski May 1, 2021 ^
RESPECT
Respect I suspect Is a foreign word Goodness Is undone Because Pablum won The courts Were not blind How sublime They didn’t know Couldn’t show Partisanship Self-worship Or something worse The devil’s curse A useful idiot Comes into power Lack of cognizance Such a sorrow Respect I love the word A bird cracking seed Is that absurd No not at all Let us not cancel Except for comrade Napoleon Fauci That would not be a pity No respect for him A deceitful man But them again I will pray for him, too Stanski April 30, 2021 ^
LEARNING
The sun tonight Once more spectacular A gift from God For us to appreciate A blue sky meets The steel gray of An inland sea Breath taking We say Thank you, Father All of our gifts Come from You Your Son told us To love one another He gave us the tools Told us where to go When we have Been gifted We have the obligation To give back Not until it hurts But until it feels good My heroes follow This sage advice We love the stars The night sky A full moon But regret the fact That we collectively Neglect our duties To each other Stanski April 30, 2021 ^
BIG GOVERNMENT
Where has all the money gone? 500 million to Solyndra Millions gone to schools But where has it gone Big time ideas Going nowhere But This is nothing new Control is the name And please Don’t resist Government grows In size And their stupidity Is just a ploy To lead us into socialism Instead we should Reduce government Put growth in the hands Of the citizens Instead we lock them down Getting them used To being controlled Put an end to Programs that worked Lie about climate And green energy Costing billions and providing Just a small percent We are being indoctrinated Baa, baa, baa Stanski April 30, 2021
THE BIG GUY
You may speak softly But a lie is still a lie You may think you are A special entity But your soul will speak May speak loudly For all eternity Where is Robert Byrd No one has heard Only God knows if He is wearing a hood Tell me all the Things you’ve done Whisper carefully When your face Looks serious One can see the Devil’s rings You are protected now By other human beings The One you must Answer to Died at Calvary You have this chance I pray for you Your last dance I sing for you When the music ends What will you do? No need to pull your sword Everything is on record Stanski April 30, 2021 ^
POLICE ARE HEROES
So many things are happening In the United States of America Police are blamed for Trying to keep order While being mocked and Tormented viciously With bricks, explosive bottles Injured or die; it doesn’t matter A blind look at reality Policemen die because of chatter The pompous declare racism Policing is not something that matters They are portrayed as a disgrace How foolish just to prove a point Statistics speak loudly But not all want to observe Racism is not a factor Black, brown, yellow and white They are all called officer None of them deserve our spite You want power; pray to God Ask for your own forgiveness Then try to live and forgive No need to live a life that is graceless The police give us a valuable service Some die while on duty or just by chance Evil is evil; don’t believe the media Life is more than a perfect romance Stanski April 27, 2021 ^
WRITING
Sometimes I write Typing out words Other times Writing Usually later at night I’ll have a drink Write down words The same one hundred Only In different order Another drink Words flow Splendid Sometimes I think It is all Like a miracle It is The mind works Pours out emotions Truth I feel exhilaration And keep writing Clearly Deliberately Fast Fluent Working hard To a Successful end Stanski April 27, 2021 ^
WRITING
Nothing going through the head, ready to give up and say I quit I can’t write That is what I said seventy poems ago there’s no tick-tock you’re on your own .
But there are times,
you think it’s over
Oh it’s easy!
Just ask someone
Who hasn’t done it.
Writing this stuff
And at high quality levels,
If my opinion counts.
Whatever can will get you down We’ll follow no structure. That’s for the college class. Stay bold, daring and aloof. A fresh pad will help and a new pen a little luck Here we go again

MY GRANDPARENTS
My grandpa loved chicken With all the fixings He had a brother Named Anthony He was a priest I had a brother Who was encouraged To become a priest Grandpa noticed That my brother Didn’t eat the chicken skin He made the comment “I see Marjorie’s little Monsignor Doesn’t like chicken skin” My grandma answered “Neither does Pope Anthony” Quiet for a moment, then “I didn’t know that Anthony Didn’t like chicken skin” Grandpa drank his coffee Pushed back from the table And that was that Grandma said “Three hours to fix Then minutes to Lick it up” Stanski April 27, 2021 ^
TRYING TO LIFT WITH HOPE
I never downplay other’s talents But may disagree with their basic thinking I know what leads to possibilities It is not high taxes and overbearing regulations The erudite think this is a good way Bring in more money for government display But the opposite happens; business declines Moves to other countries in order to survive Less revenue; more expense; higher tax A spiral that needs to relax I look for the critical thinker They are on the road as a tinker Anything; do anything – just to survive Wonder if the American dream is alive Others suppressed feed off the government No encouragement to succeed; feet in cement Discouraged and no knowledge of society These souls adjust to government dependency They vote for the left for the sake of security Not realizing they are taking the road to misery I talk to those who seemingly have talent Their concern is limited because they are all right But what about all of that around them What happens when their world collapses? Is there a care; a glimpse of responsibility Will the dollar tip help with all the misery Will the walking away, the turning of the back Make our country greater; restore what we lack I am hungry for justice; have respect for my peers Wonder what I can do to make them see clear I ask, “Won’t you try to change the system?” They react as though it were a church hymn Stanski May 1, 2021 ^
