Who can make the sunshine? Sparkle the grass with dew? Separate moons from stardust? Could there be more than a few Who bring joy to the masses and Take away the pain, the scars? So ingrained are the desires To remove obstacles which Have tendency to drain Blood from our hearts Leaving us morose, lonely Alone to carry our cross Where do we look for relief? When all we hear is defeat Anxiety about the need to carry on Where is the staff We were led to believe Would be here to work with us In a way that would not deceive Will lead to the sacred river Where we may be washed Relieved from strain and stain Of walking away empty when There was so much to gain Could it be that River Jordan? The place we want to be Join others in their songs Escape from tyranny Just cross the flowing waters Find peace on distant shores Be a part of the ringing glory The sun there will be shining On every people, every race It is here we’re all the same Trumpets blare will proclaim This is that glorious place Stansberry McKricken aka Stanski March 23, 2016 ^
YOU ASK AND I ASK
The truth! Must you ask? How are your instincts? Cannot you sense it? Life then death Rise then set Both unquestionable I do not question your concern I praise you for it Seeking wisdom is not the custom these days I answer you by asking: What gives you quiet joy? How do you feel when giving? Do you know the meaning of love? Is it easy for you to forgive? When you suffer loss will you double down - - - Giving away for good that which you lost? What will you sacrifice for another? Your answer to these will be the truth: Whether you know or not the meaning of good living I wait to hear Stanski May 28, 2021 ^
MAKING CHOICES
Listen for the music and for the bells and the peals of the trains at night, the sounds send to us a message Sometimes we understand; other times we get mixed messages The wind may mask the sound the bell may have a crack and its message is off key Listen then to the music in your hearts May it lift you to do good works and help those in need Let it enhance our gentleness, sweetness, patience, humility and chastity May the light of the Holy Spirit inspire us to overcome the darkness of the world where God’s children are living in war, genocide, hatred and revolution we pray for forgiveness knowing that a just God will be waiting, sometimes with vengeance, other times with loving open welcoming arms It is for us the living to choose which way we want to live Do we wish eternal glory or damnation for eternity? POISON FROM THE WELL
POISON FROM THE WELL Poison from the well Who will drink the water? The left takes aim at The AR-15; what is it It is not an assault weapon I look across the water To the distant shore Is this the high tide? How far do we have to go? The bridges are burning What are we learning? When everyone says it’s okay Climbing the cliff is and arduous journey When we get to the top Enemies are there musing How could you; how dare you I don’t like poison I don’t like your well We don’t like control Unnecessary regulations Rules to stop progress Messages from a fool or A group of troubadours Telling us how wrong we are In about everything we do Oil is not only energy It is so much more Zip-lock bags, everything plastic Clothes, medications, computers, Furniture and so much more Still we want to kill oil End its pipe line transportation Shut down exploration Rely on wind turbines And solar panels which are Produced in China and Will never provide the The energy we need Poison from the well Who will drink the water? Do we have a border crisis? Not according to some We were near to solving The situation, then interrupted By a new administration Killers, rapists, sex slaves And deadly drugs smuggled Causing unnecessary death Deliberately by undoing Working border policies The lord works in mysterious ways It is time for us to arise We must stand up and Take our country back Reclaim our civil liberties Let us cap the well Providing poison water Embrace our constitution Do the things that matter Respect the opposition Let freedom for all Be our proposition Stanski May 18, 2021 ^
A WORLD IN CHAOS
I think of the world A place in crisis Murder by bullets By knives and rockets Or death by choking But death by these ways Are evil as death by Accidents, overdose And disease are commonplace And sad. We become immune Until it affects us, then we Cry out to the Father, Ask for forgiveness and Try to recall what He Expects from us We are sad in this way, But at least know whom To turn to We should bring this concern To our daily lives in A regular manner To do so is to live fully and In the moment even When the moment is gray We are loved and the Holy Spirit Is always with us as promised By Christ, who taught us and Died for our sins, then left us To take His place with His Father We must love Him above all and Our neighbors as we wait for His return. He knows weakness And quest for power And control in our world That seemingly rejects peace He will deal with the offenders As He takes us under His wing Stanski May 26, 2021 ^
REAL LIFE IS HARD
Real life is hard Even with good leaders You feel an incentive Which is more that meager Listen my friends I can play a few chords Enough to lift you Keep you from being bored No scarlet letters Saying you’re identified Disregard the concept You’ll be satisfied No one is a victim Unless you choose to be Freedom is a precious gift Like life I’m sure you’ll see We live in a world bewildered Power and control prevail You must stick to your rights When you do you will not fail Gloom and doom exist They are not the perimeter Our right to stand up and fight Precludes our right to falter Our congress leans to the left Help in creating the tension The anti-Semitic leaders Do not deserve their pension Death and injury to the innocents Is not something we behold Let’s remember the origin and Realize that we must be bold Stanski May 22, 2021
MORE LEADERSHIP
My friends I hear your call for music And know you love The tunes – still music Is not the final solution But lift lift our souls While we choose We choose to be active Or silent and stand up Or be rolled over by the fools Those who feel they are safe in Their views. The truth however Revokes this premise and The truth will prevail Who wants to defund the police? Where, tell me, is the appeal We release the “peaceful protestors” And incarcerate innocents When the truth begins to fester The deniers run and cry Cannot believe their eyes Hold fast to their false beliefs Causing them nothing but grief We look at the border and Then sing a sad song Illegals are settled in towns Where no one knows what went wrong We want a strong leader Who knows what to do? But our occupant is weak and fails us To us he is only a reckless fool Stanski May 22, 2021 ^
LEADERSHIP
Trying to impact with a nasty situation Use it to put us to shame Supposedly showing our indifference Instead of a Christian response What are we do? Hang our heads in shame? We have no control Rules are rules and they apply The same thing happens all the time Mothers go to serve time in prison They are separated from their children You mention the situation She should have followed the law What about the other perpetrators Shouldn’t they obey the law? You cannot make decisions with your heart The brain and heart have to be on the same wave Then you can feel confident about doing the right thing We are a nation of laws We have a border being crossed by illegal immigrants No matter what your persuasion, the law has been broken The better point to make might be to enforce our laws Go after the companies hiring illegals and prosecute In a while there would be no incentive to cross the border There is a legal way to become a citizen Everyone knows this and we all come from a background of immigration It is a difficult situation for the ones in violation The issue is tossed around like a football Used for political purposes Christians and others do help We are generous in giving aid to the downtrodden Dictators take much of the aid in many cases Matters get worse People starve, children and adults They die and are separated forever until the hereafter Please don’t use the pulpit to admonish Religious leaders should lead We should stop playing games Cancel the United Nations or make it work Everyone in Africa should have food, water and shelter Where is the Vatican? What about their wall? Stanski August 11, 2018 ^
HEAR IT RING
I listen and hear the bells ring Wonder if I am doing The right thing. I heard The bell has a crack, but Then doesn’t everyone It lets the light come in We all need light, especially The light that overcomes All darkness. We are all Sinners saved by Jesus He died for us and our sins One the cross at Calvary and Today rockets light up the skies Because evil exists and God has A purpose for everyone and All things, even the enemy and We do not, cannot understand A purpose for our weak leader Slowly taking us to the abyss Wake up my friends and ring That bell with the crack, the Liberty bell and begin your Prayer and sacrifice to Him Only then can we survive And stand where others fall Because we heard our call and Can remember His resurrection And promise Stanski May 25, 2021 ^
