As much as we want to help everyone
The reality is that we can’t
It is not the case of the Priest and Levite
Leaving everything up to the Samaritan
The elite are pulling for the former
They like to make all the claim
The latter pays all the bills and places no blame
But this is one person ignored by two
When we have thousands invading our border
Most precious, but ignoring law and order
While hundreds of thousands wait legally
Redefinition of fairness must be bolder
Look at all the deaths that didn’t have to be
Chicago, an example, the second city
Drugs and gangs despite the gun laws
The basic cause of failure, what a pity
Where is the thinking in this absurdity?
A border is a border, it might be a wall
Whatever it takes to keep from taking a fall
We are a nation with compassion
Operation is not based on greed
We are a very generous people
Equality for everyone is our creed
Opinions everywhere on what to do
Who wants invaders living with you?
Freedom in their homeland is what they should seek
Overrun the dictators – is it possible to do?
Where do all of our millions go?
Is that something we should know?
Is the United Nations involved at all?
Are they aware of the meaning of freedom’s call?
I think of soldiers missing in action, sailors lost at sea
Cemeteries everywhere marked with white crosses
Parents who lost their valiant children
I think of angel mothers to the point of crying
Thirty years ago we gave amnesty to thousands
In exchange for securing our border
Dereliction of duty presents today’s problem
What are we to do?  What is law and order?

I think of the world
How wonderful it could be
But all of the chaos
Has a way of upsetting me 
The need to control
Oppress those we can
Remove all obstacles
Seems to be the plan
Genocide is a tool
Remove your enemy
Make proclamations
That will live in infamy 
Look for the fall guy
Or any guy will do
Make an example
Turn him into a fool
Be divisive, hypocritical,
And even racist
Then blame others
The political basis
Open the border
Against all legislation
Then cover for the crisis
Use terms like probation
America is not racist
Except for the panderers
We love others and help them
Even the wanderers
The politicians
Think about the mess
It’s the politicians
Just ask the lobbyists 
I think about our country
How wonderful it could be
People in constant prayer
And still the misery
When will we ever learn?
We’re the same as the founders
When will we ever learn?
This alone is my concern

This day I sit
Quiet-think
Resting in His presence
Always hopeful that
I have His approval
And that in living this day 
I do not forget Him
For even a moment
I will look for Him in others
There is much to do and
Without His help 
I would have no chance
I think of my children and
Hope that Christ is with them
In some way
This would be good

I sit in the front pew
A group behind me prays
They have a protocol they follow
I respect this and while they pray
I sit alone and write meditations
I ask God’s blessings on them,
Our priest and myself
I have many irons in the forge and
Know that if this is a dance
I must waltz with Him
Without His hand I am nothing
He works through me and
This association overwhelms me
He is my brother, shepherd and creator
So awesome!
I remain humble with hope

An imploding agenda
It’s all falling apart
The occupant proclaims
An era of relentless diplomacy
We will rebuild our alliances, 
Wit countries, whose 
Names cannot be remembered
And then referred to as “pal”
Such a joke from one told what to do
It is not funny that he is sick
But is funny when he says
That those people will pay
Will anyone pay?
Incompetence costs lives
Then the blaming of the border patrol
Another joke; no spurs; just long reins
To control the horse, referred to as whips
The administration botches crisis after crisis
The occupant humiliates the country on every stage
Leaves Americans and allies behind enemy lines
There is absolutely no accountability
Americans who are trying to help
Are not getting any cooperation
It is a sad, sad state of affairs
There is no relief in sight
There is a waging of war against Americans
The infrastructure bill is an example
A 2700 page bill is a nightmare
It is not paid for in spite of the claims
Jobs will be sent overseas
Inflation is taking place
We are no longer energy independent
The administration has lost credibility
All of the flowers are dying
People are dying by the hundreds
Covid-19 variants are killing us
Hatred for law enforcement is killing us
The breaking of laws is rewarded
Peaceful protestors who caused millions of damage
And injured or murdered hundreds are rewarded
I would say we are in trouble
I pray that we wake up soon

We keep marching in life and
now and then it is time to 
slow down and think of the spiritual. 
I want the Holy Spirit within me as
I rely on this for stability.
I think before I speak and look
for Christ in others. I damper my
pride, seek humility and reflect
on the passion of Christ.  Evil in 
this world is overwhelming.  Still
there is goodness.  I focus on the
goodness that is in front of me and
pray for improved conditions in the
world that I have no control over.  
This is why Jesus says to walk with 
Him.  Find peace, joy, and quiet
for just being at His side.  This
is what I will do by His grace.

Our hearts will be broken again
We were looking for peace and contentment
We found revolution and genocide
We keep our faith
This has to end
What will end it we ask?
Not an easy question to answer
Will bringing people to the table help?
I think all that is, is talk
Talk is said to be cheap
Adjust the thinking of those involved
Easier said than done
Escalate our strength
Peace through strength
Sign agreements
This is one a delay tactic
The enemy catches up
This is not good
We are back to square one
In recorded history
There are only a few years without war
Those were good years
But then we saw build ups of armature
Then we waited
The other foot would soon fall
It all starts over, but
Only lasts for a little while
Relatively speaking
The cycles continue
They are destined to continue
This is the story of mankind
Every chapter is about the same
It is a bad, bad situation
We must not give up hope
Pray for our enemies
Pray for peace

We are busy
Get on with what

Things are not that bad
Are they?
I’m just saying
You know what I’m saying?
And what is so wrong with
Peace, love and understanding?
I look around at the world in dismay
Words come to my mind:
Destroyed
Ruined
Betrayed
Endangered
Repressed
Impoverished
They sadden me
What can we do?
Honestly?
I have no answers
We have failed
Ourselves
Our children
Our neighbors
It will come to an end
I have hope
I hope we are not too late
I hope it will be good for everyone
You have to admit
Hope is a good thing
And sorry is such a hard word to say
