We have had our share

Of darkness in recent years.

We must hold on and pray

For light especially in the

Hearts of the world’s oppressors.

It they could have a kinship

With the creator wouldn’t they

Be happy to give up their

Power especially if they knew

What awaits them after death?

And we, who live with the knowledge

Of the lord could improve our

Actions so as to bring more light

To the masses. We must shine on

The path of virtue and understanding.

We should constantly give example of

How to live so that others following

Us will understand how to reach a

Happy eternal life. The Holy Spirit

Will be with us as we continue

This incredible journey. Darkness

Will fade with each step and the

Light will enter our souls, making

Us happy to be cross bearers and

Soldiers for Jesus.

I think that certain thoughts

Stay deep in our subconscious

Until the right time or circumstances

Call for them and then they flow

Out on paper and become a poem.

The mind and emotions work

Together and when you are in the

Midst of one of these dream like

States. You do not understand

How this happens, but it is not

Important that you do as long as you

Do the writing and the reality of it

All takes place. Hidden thoughts

Or stored thoughts are important

And should be shared because they

Can become life changing for the

Right people. It is a thrill to break

The conscious unconscious barrier

It is more a gift then something we

Have control over and the phenomenon

Is delightful, much like finding a new

Species in our garden. It is difficult to

Explain, but a lovely happening.

The beautiful natural floor or

The forest is now white with

Snow. Lake effect snow. As a

Twelve-year-old paperboy, I

Did not like snow of any kind

As it added too much to my

Being as an excellent carrier.

I remember walking in snow

Up to my waste just to get the

Paper to the mailbox. The good

Part of having snow was that

It had to be shoveled and having

The customers locked in, it

Became a source of extra income

Which helped pay household bills.

The white powder is beautiful as

It lights upon evergreen branches

And it teaches you that you can

Not have it both ways. One day

Closer to spring and good for

Those who are sentimental about

Having snow for Christmas and

While you are sweating from the

Removal workout they are fawning

About how lovely it is. Eventually

The snow melts and all is good.

We find joy in different

Situations and it is not

Always the same. There

Is the happy joy when you

Win a game or find a dollar.

Then the silent joy for just

Making it through a day.

In the garden some plants

Excel while others barely make it.

You can sense the kind of

Joy which is presented there.

We all want success with

Hope of finding joy when

We achieve it. Giving to others

And making them happy adds

To our joy. When we know

What to expect and are ready

For it a certain amount of joy

Permeates our inner being.

Life can be complicated and

When we handle all the bumps

And curves we are satisfied and

This leads to unfathomable joy.

Sunshine is wonderful but we

Also need rain. Both may bring joy.

When working in the garden

I look for little things which

Cause enthusiasm in my soul.

I am brought to delight and

Knowing that I am not alone,

I watch for bees and other

Insects as they do what they

Do in the garden. Pollination

Is up to them unless the wind

Is strongly blowing. Then the

Insects take cover and I find

Myself alone thinning plants

And pulling weeds it may

Sound dull but with the right

Attitude is exciting and peaceful

Soon the garden turns into a

Gem. Many colors come together

Forming a palette of color which

Would make most artists wonder.

My idea is not to make a masterpiece

But just a balanced presentation

Which will make the angels smile.

Seasons pass and changes do also.

What was once, is no longer. It is

Similar and what is given to be

Worked over and brought to fruition.

Joy abounds.

I hear them and then they fade away

Like the dreams of yesterday.

When I work in the garden, I listen for

Them. They were signs of encouragement.

Around noon the Angelus Bells rang out

And I could mark my accomplishment.

It is clear   to me that music is a good

For the soul and when we allow

It into our central being we

Are opening the doors for

The angels to come and

Join us. All the work in the

Garden is for praising the

Lord and the angels are

Certainly, good at that. I do

Not need their permission or

Approval, but look to them

For inspiration. There will be

A day when others take over

The work which I began and

I hope they will attempt to

Follow the template I have

Laid out and not let it disappear.

Still on the table

Time is passing

Other factors emerge

Rationalization

Can afford to wait

D-Day approaching

Still much to do

Will wait until tomorrow

There is still time

No steps are taken

A few days pass

Then to the mailbox

Card is sent

Happy belated birthday

From your friend

Hope you are doing well

I have really been busy

Hope you had a great day

THE LITTLE THINGS

We find what we are looking for

In the little things of life. Helping

Others especially children can lift

Us to heights we have only dreamt

Of. To do for others without thinking

About it gives back to us a feeling

Of satisfaction and peace. Many times

We have the opportunity come to us

And our response being positive

Fills us, and we realize that we can

Never do too much. One man said

Don’t give until it hurts but give

Until it feels good. This should be

Our motto.

A rose by any other name is still

A rose and its beauty comes from

It transforming from a bud to an

Open lush flower. Although it lasts

For a while, it finally fades and We are left

With the memory and the bush.

Other flowers go through transition

But none can compare to the rose,

All things considered. The garden is

A lovely, or can be, place to be at one

With nature. There are so many things

Happening at once or in turn and we

Can go dizzy trying to keep up with all

The changes. I like an organized garden,

But not to the point that it becomes

Landscape. I keep it clean and free from

Weeds, feed it with fertilizer now and then

And water if needed. The plants themselves

Are partners and they can be collaged with

Shrubs and bushes, along with ornamental

Grassed. Many entities to make a

Beautiful showing of what nature can do if

Given a chance, which means if we are

Willing to get dirty and help it along. It brings

Peace of mind and body, and spiritual growth

All things considered.

A silver streak of the sun’s reflection

Is painted along the horizon. It is a

Reminder life begins and ends and

What it amounts to is what we make

Of it. We must not be content just

Because we have no problems at

The present time but should reflect

On the problems of the world which

Begin in our own communities and

Stretch to the far corners of the world.

What can we do changes to what we

Must do and that is to pray continuously

And give to organizations which will

Provide food, water, clothing, and

Shelter to those who have been deprived of

Them by acts of nature and by dictators

Who take pleasure in persecuting

Those peoples who they control. There

Will be a price to pay for their part in

The misery of others and our part if we

Choose to do nothing. The feeling of

Peace comes to those who help out

Others in a time of need. You will see

The beauty of your act which will

Compare to that of a rose blooming.

Words without action remain words.
