MONDAY AGAIN

Time rolls by. We were

Just bringing in the garbage

Can and it is time to take

It out again. Laundry is no

Longer a Monday thing

But almost an everyday

Necessity. We begin the

Week on Sunday with

The day of rest, according

To the bible is Saturday.

Over the years, this has

Become confused with

Sunday becoming the day of

Rest. The Christian calendar

Has included other pagan

Interpretations, including

Christmas, Easter, All Saints

Day and others. For true

Believers, these acts take away

Some of the sacredness of

The Holy Days, but does not

Diminish their Christianity

I guess we can have it both

Ways as long as we don’t

Get confused. I’ll sign off as

I have laundry to do.

Sitting on the porch

The wind is blowing fiercely

The trees are bending

Almost ready to snap

One did earlier in the fall season

It is exciting to be present

During the gusts.

The lights just went out.

It would be an hour before the

Linemen fixed the problem

We had had dinner. The usual

Friday night pizza. Tonight’s was

From Jack’s Grocery and

Tasty it was.

The lights just came on.

We were watching the Master’s

Golf Tournament. It is a very

Tough course. We were pulling

For Tiger, but he is behind.

There are two more days

And you never know, but

A lot of good golfers are

Competing, so we might as

Well, say wait until next year.

The wind has died down with

No further damage.

Things are fairly quiet

I can smell bacon frying

And the horses are pulling

The collection trailer from

Tree to tree pouring sap

From the maples into

Their collection barrel

They will spend a lot of

Time rendering the sap

Into syrup, which they

Hope to sell to local merchants

And customers who will

Be stopping at their farm

Market during the season.

It is not an easy life, but one

They have grown to cherish.

The bacon smells good and

The horses are rewarded

With oats for their labor.

The farm life is unique and

Once experienced, it is hard

To give up. There are good seasons

And bad seasons, dry and wet.

It all goes with the territory.

It is nice to be older

Because most everyone

Treats you with respect

People assume you are

An intellect and seldom

Challenge you on any

Topic. They appreciate

Your manner and are

Happy to be associated with

You and like to be seen

With you. Days will come

When you are in the presence

Or some older than you.

You show them respect

But as for the rest of it

You have a life too and

Are too busy to be slobbering

Over them. They have

Their own sycophants.

A medium-sized blackbird

Floated through some barely

Moving clouds. I looked at the

Trees. There was some movement

But mostly, they lingered in a

Quiet mode. Waves were moving

In a slow, methodical pace.

I thought how nice it would be

If the whole world could follow

This example. Too many things

Going on at quickness that

Provokes others, either persons

Or nations. Too much ambition

To control rather than serve others.

This never lasts for long. Soon there

Is war and ruined nations and in the

End what was gained? The precepts

Given to us by Jesus are so easy to

Follow, especially when we are

Assisted by the Holy Spirit. Too many

Fail to apply critical thinking to

This concept so, consequently we

Have war, feuds, and chaos in our

Hands to deal with when things could

Be running smooth like the bird gliding

Through the slow-moving clouds.

One time, I went to the movies

To see a particular movie. When

I sat down I got into the movie

Right away. It wasn’t the one

I went to see it, but it was an

Interesting story, and I enjoyed

It. Another time, I went to the

Movie, and it was so good that

I watched it twice. It tells me

That is what I thought was important

May have been superseded by

Something I hadn’t heard of or

Planned on. Our emotions are

Along that line. What bothers us

Turns out to be nothing but at

The time was important enough

To provoke us. One time I went to

Mow the lawn of one of my

Customers and it was already

Mowed. I didn’t know what to

Think. Later, the lady paid me, and

Said her grandson had visited

And mowed while she was away

Shopping. I thanked her and then

Realized that in life everything

Does not always go as planned.

This is the day of the

Eclipse. Most of the country

Won’t be able to see it

In-person because of

Weather connections

Television should make

The visual available to

Many. Years will pass

Before another comes

Along. The Mysteries

Of nature are immense

And even great minds

Cannot understand how

The heavens work. The

Planets and stars move

In a predictable manner.

\we have the seasons

Because of the way the

Earth tilts. It is warmer and

Then colder. This affects many

Things including growth

And climate. The elites make

Millions of dollars with

Their claims of harmful

Climate change.it is just

Nature and has forever

Been changing. Be at peace.

A SILVER DOLLAR

Walking down the road

I had my collar turned up

It was cold, a nasty cold.

Hy head faced the gutter

And to my surprise, I spotted

A silver dollar just lying there

I picked it up and put it in my

Pocket. I didn’t wear that coat

Again, until recently and the

Silver dollar was still there

In the pocket. I have not told

This story until just now.

Taking the steps in dreamland

Everything is possible, but you

Must take the first step followed

By many more. You can seel

Conventions or sports events

And be welcomed wherever

You go. You will ride clouds

Like an everyday event, find

Snow in the summertime and

Ride horses over mountains,

Jumping wide spans between

Cliffs and landing amongst

A group of men and women

Listening to a man who most

Likely is Jesus. He is telling

In a leisurely manner, what must

Be done to gain a place in

Heaven. I am not bewildered

But feel at ease and calm.

I meet many people, and they

Are happy to know all about me

Especially the fact that I am

A human angel. We make plans

For the next gathering and then

They provide food and water

For my horse. I return home

In my dream. It has been a

Wonderful night.

We wait, and when it comes

Spring is just like winter, so

We wait, and it will not be in

Vain. Soon, the wind will play

Soft music blowing through

New buds on the trees and

The birds will sing out their

Songs, while the waves will

Refresh the shore. we will

Have a list of things to do,

Which is a carryover from

Last fall. We will wish we

Had done them when we

Had made the weak plans,

But for now, this is the

Right time. My lovely

Daughter is the horse, and

I can only praise her until

I heal and then join her

In accomplishing all the

Things we have been planning.

It will be fun working with

Nature while listening to

The music of spring and summer.

We are fortunate to have the

opportunity to work with each other
