A SMALL BIRD A small bird flew across an empty sky I wondered where it was going All alone over the inland sea The birds have their instincts They do not seem to tire and Always return to their nest. Later I saw two gaggles of geese The parents teaching the young Ones how to fish. The routine is Repeated until the young ones learn. It is fun to watch the growth. Nature is a wondrous thing. A LITTLE BIRD

A small bird flew across an empty sky

I wondered where it was going

All alone over the inland sea

The birds have their instincts

They do not seem to tire and

Always return to their nest.

Later I saw two gaggles of geese

The parents teaching the young

Ones how to fish. The routine is

It is fun to watch the growth.

Nature is a wondrous thing.

Joe, my pantry is empty

I cannot afford food

The heat bill is out of sight

And gasoline is through the roof

You opened the border

We have murders and rapes

The perps are let back into society

They commit the same crimes

You have abandoned Israel

Our indoctrinated students

Are rioting for Palestine

They are happy that Hamas

Has slaughtered so many jews

Joe, what are you doing

Everything costs more

We are spending millions

Taking care of the illegals

Putting them up in luxury hotels

While our soldiers sleep

On the sidewalk along

With vagrants add drug heads.

Our oil reserve is dwindling

And you are supporting Iran.

Why aren’t we drilling for

Oil and gas. We were independent

We were exporters earning money

Our national debt is out of sight.

Let us stop spending.

What are you doing, Joe

Quit! quit!

A lady came to my pharmacy

And handed me a prescription.

It had the name Tyler on it and

I asked male or female. Instead

Of answering male, she said

I know Taylor can be male or

Female but I never heard of

A female Tyler. I should have

Just left it alone, but I said we

Had a girl named Tyler at college,

But maybe it was a nick=name.

Why would they call her Tyler

Asked the lady. I answered

Because she was always on

The floor. Another customer laughed.

The lady paid for her medicine and

Left. I never saw her again. Life

Has its ups and downs.

HUMORLESS

Humorless people exist

Fran Miller came into my

Store to pick up prescriptions

For his wife, Norma. He

Usually grumbled about

The price and this day

Our lights were off.

What’s the matter, Steve

Didn’t you pay your electric

Bill. That’s a great line, Fran

Did you think, it up or do you

Have writers. He turned and

Headed for the door. Frank

I said, I was just kidding. He

Kept walking and again I

Said, Frank I was just kidding.

The last thing I said to him as

He was walking out the door

Was, Frank. He never came

Back. His wife never called

To apologize for his behavior.

I never saw him again. The other

Customers who were waiting for

The electricity to come back on

Just shook their heads and laughed.

LIBERTY

There is the feeling

That we are losing

Our Liberty. An

Right given and

Acknowledged by

The constitution.

Brave mem and women

Have laid down their lives

In the process of fighting

To protect our liberty.

Now we have the

People in Washington D.C.,

The governors of the states

And the local bureaucrats

Infringing on our liberty in

One way or another.

Restrictions and mandates

Take away our rights.

Proposals that are absurd

Electric cars and renewable energy

Without being concerned

With the outcome and costs.

We cannot drill for oil and gas

We leave the border open and

Create a debt we can’t pay off.

Bit by bit our liberty is lost.

WHAT’S SO BAD

In life you encounter

Many things and people.

Sometimes you are rubbed

The wrong way and wand to

Retaliate which gives you\

Some satisfaction, but

Still leaves you feeling bad.

A better way may be to

Forgive and possibly help

Remove the obstacles and

Forgive those who injured

You. It is a possible way of

Life. Like we have heard

Turn the other cheek and

Help rather than hinder

Personal growth. And

What’s so bad about peace,

Love and understanding.

Sometimes things don’t

Look too positive. An injury

Lingers and even though

You do your physical therapy

You don’t detect improvement

Prayer sooths the soul but

The body stays the same

Don’t give up. Sooner or

Later there will be a break-

Through and you will be

Up and running around

Doing the things you like

To do which improve

The community and also

Give relief to the one who

Cares for me and the

Property. The best thing is

To not fall on black ice.

We know what to anticipate

And from what direction. The

Percussion we feel on our chest

Remind us of previous encounters.

We knew what to expect and how

To handle it as a team. We prayed

And committed the team and the

Residents into the hands of our

Heavenly Father. Then the waiting.

Almost all of the projectiles were

Intercepted within a quarter hour.

We thanked our Father for His

Protection. Going to the psalms

We read that he that dwells in the

Secret place of the Most High

Shall abide under the shadow of the

Almighty. He is our refuge and our fortress;

My God, in Him I will trust. He will cover

You with His feathers and under his wings

You shall take refuge; His truth shall

Be your truth and buckler. We shall not

Be afraid of terror by night or the arrow

That flies by day. (From Psalm 91

Although sleep was scarce, we had His

Angels  to watch over us we are forever thankful

And will place our trust where it belongs

When asked to help out and

To say you are praying on

It, just doesn’t fly. You

Already know the answer.

You may have nothing left to

Give. It is not for us to judge.

It is between you and your

Maker. He gave His life.

The holocaust survivors

Lost their families and are

Alone. At their age they

Cannot be game fully employed.

They need outside help to

Survive. We were given instructions

On what to do and we must

Follow in the footsteps of the

Man who laid down His life

For us. Israel was shaken this

Past October 7. Hamas committed

One of the worst atrocities Israel

Has ever experienced. More help

Is needed now and to claim to

Be antisemitic will not do. We

Must do our part if we are to be

Called children or God. Praying

Is good, but not if it leads to denial.
