I think about fall
A beautiful season
Colors distinct to every tree
fills the eyes with almost more
than they can bear
The Tamaracks are especially beautiful
going from evergreen to light yellow,
yellow, dark yellow, golden and brown
before dropping their needles to the ground
Folks think of Vermont and the
falling leaves of the Sycamore
Football hopes are still there for some
Others have a “wait until next year” attitude
We see happiness and letdown
when we take the time to see
Chores that have been waiting
come to mind again halfway through
this lovely autumn
Halloween is over and a chill runs through us
Where has all the time gone and what have I done with it
It is still early November and what I hope is moonlight
turns out to be the first snow of this year
not counting of course January, February, March and April
There are those beautiful leaves and needles to clear
Painting will have to wait until the next whenever
Mowing and trimming, how foolish we are
What would we give for more time?
Snowbirds have gone, Thanksgiving is near and
we miss them, are saddened and feel isolated
Soon, heavy coats and boots will be the fashion
We will fall into a rhythm we can bear and
sunshine will be a sort of savior
Lifted up by a new beauty we begin a new march
Songbirds, forgotten, replaced soon by the music of Christmas
We will be moved with compassion to help those on the bottom
Beauty found in places we have forgotten
All is not lost, there is little distance between these emotions

ABIDING
ABIDING There is no blame There is no shame But all the same So natural, to play the game Sometimes sad Health so bad No one glad Was not a fad When I review Everyone knew That we were true We even grew Expect revision Justifiable decision Life newly arisen Release from prison Too many miles False smiles Denials Trials Truth remains, too Light conquers blue Stories of rue Coming from who No more tension Invention Retaliation With intention All will be good As it should Knock on wood That we could We sighed Also tried Often cried Accepted that It was over We shall abide Stanski November 14, 2021 ^
HERE IT COMES
Whether we are ready or not It is coming The big change A bright pink in the southwestern sky Is uplifting, but underneath it all With the world condition as it is We have trouble finding joy This is a natural phenomenon and We are not being selfish, but More likely over concerned Things we have no control over Are dominating the news and None of them are pleasant to ascertain The inland sea is tossing waves onto the shore This in rapid succession and The funny thing is that the trees are still The big change will alter that You can almost feel the burrowing in And then the stubbornness as the Cold, snow and wind refuse to let up I hope this is a dream or a nightmare and I will wake up to a warm sunny morning, But that might be asking for too much We have solutions for everything wrong The trouble is there are politicians and dictators That are in the way of resolution What is it that causes the need to control? We come up with man rules that hinder growth And cause suffering to those most susceptible People sleeping on the streets who need help Money spent for ridiculous projects, while We ignore those who could be helped There will be a day of reckoning We have all heard of it The weeping and gnashing of teeth And sorry will not cover the sin Stanski November 13, 2021 ^
ARTIST WOES
Artists have their ups and downs Remain graceful just knowing There is an equalizing, so Keep working; keep growing Creativity is a welcome gift They open up and let it flow Never doubt their process Nor sure of where it will go They are in for the long haul Know nothing is a sure bet Stay true to their selves Hoping others will get it Their truth is for us to see Then we buy it if we agree Stanislaus Kuperski the Firski June 7, 2013 ^

WORDS TO SOOTHE
The heart once broken Does not easily mend Trips over little things That may have a tragic end Just the mention of a name A glance at a hero Saying goodbye to a friend When you know there’s no tomorrow Life does have its trials Trouble never brings forth smiles I must walk for many miles As I tread on earthly ground Some are dancing, singing out Me, still crying, but trying to hum Angels stay away from darkness I, too, will look for light Seek the One where hope is found Adjust myself and take his hand Pray He helps heal my wound Grey days may turn to sunny I see how faith has grown Will not ask for the easy way With blue skies and perfect peace I want the wind and storming paths So my growth will know no ease Difficulties I learn to endure Losses, though dear, I will bear Despair no longer gets the best of me Prayer led me to the light I must stay on bended knee Stanislaus Kuperski aka Stanski November 13, 2021
SUNSHINE ON A SATURDAY MORNING
The sun is shining on the inland sea Wind is blowing calmly out of the west Beauty is supreme especially the Whitecaps hitting the sandbars About two football lengths from shore I glanced over the surface of the water No birds were to be seen Many have migrated, but occasionally One may spot a Canadian goose The seagulls are ever present and The black birds, crows, and woodpeckers Seem to be year around inhabitants They of course are not water fowls Loons, which are perceived as precious Have not been seen these last few years A disease called Type E Botulism, a recurring Disease caused by the recurring food web change So, today there are no birds on the water, but The beauty of the morning rain, mixed With sunshine cannot be denied The skies are hinting at more precipitation They are an imposing gray collection, but Mr. Sun seems determined to shine through We are near the middle of November The harvest is mostly over and Thanksgiving Is just around the corner and we try to get Our outside chores complete before The day of Thanks, which we must admit to Our shame that we have neglected or purposely Done things that are leading to the failure and Destruction of our country as we now know it Liberals want socialism and control and their Sycophants go along with it, but there are Signs that the majority of citizens are against it We are the greatest country man has known And we should be thankful and pray to God To help us restore ourselves to what we were And are capable of becoming again This is the time of year for reflection Let us be wise in doing so Stanski November 13, 2021 ^
IT IS THERE
Beauty does a runabout Now you see it and now you don’t Yesterday the shrub had Crimson and yellow leaves Some turning brown and They glowed as the sun shined through Today the shrubs have empty limbs The forty miles per hour wind Settled the issue if there was one Nature is mystical One season trying to start while The last season is still holding on We take what is given and look For the beauty which may be Of a different kind The music orchestrated varies From day to day It whistles through pine trees Blows leaves in all directions Pushes waves to pound the shore We hear what we cannot see Look for what isn’t there and Hope we are on the right path, Come rain or come shine We look for beauty in others There is usually kindness Hidden under the mask of seriousness We imagine spirits and angels passing by Would love to have a conversation It is all there, just waiting for us To open up and recognize We try to figure things out and Sometimes make discoveries How deep is the ocean, another miracle? How high the mountains we wonder When the flat path we try to walk Is like a mountain. Immeasurable We wait in solitude for answers that We should be out looking for The challenge is great The beauty of it all is worth the effort It is there Stanski November 12, 2021

A MEDITATION FOR 11/12
Anxiousness is prevalent. Everything is not going the way we think it should be, therefore it is not good. Try to keep things simple. Who are we? Who are they? We are all children of God, deserving brotherly love and respect. Such an easy concept and still we have trouble adhering, because of pride. How foolish. The Father has been forgotten. We have set ourselves up as Kings and Queens and feel slighted. Remember we are dust and Jesus died for our sins. He has forgotten the evil and is searching for our goodness. Time to be humble and honor others. We will be rewarded many times over. Amen Steve Haarman aka Stanski November 12, 2021 ^
