A FOGGY DAY IN GULLIVER It snows today Winds are cold Gray is the color Just the mood is blue What have I done? I keep asking I’m a paranoid android Marching in circles Mush in my head Gloom is in my eyes I search for my star Look to the skies When it rains it pours Old words, new meanings The nearness of you A thing of the past I hear the exit music Yes, I cannot dance My wait is patient How long can I last? The truth, the truth Sometimes a new word Then, I’m the light That is what I do Preach forgiveness Then release I believed, now I say, please! Don’t think twice It’s not alright it is like a London fog Think I have hope up And take nothing for granted In this waiting game Death by slow torture Brings one no fame Life will unfold No one laughs last Regret breaks he soul, and There is on cast Stanski January 23, 2022 ^

THERE WILL BE PEACE
I sit looking out the window.
It is beautiful and exciting.
I have never lived on the moon before this year.
There are few creatures about and I feel isolated.
The craters are what you imagined they would be.
They are white and frozen. I must be self-reliant.
I am on my own. No one is in control.
I must survive for several months until
the earth ship comes to rescue me and
the data I have been collecting.
The data will be useful for further excursions.
This is not easy work. I feel lonely and depressed.
I knew this would happen even before I accepted the assignment.
The earth was in chaos. Everyone was suffering,
especially the children. We knew there were solutions
but no leaders were about, to put into action.
It seems to be the story of mankind.
We seem to not be able to coexist.
Too much ego and need to control
even by fiats and mandates.
The citizens eventually wear down and begin to revolt.
I look at the leaders. It is hard to believe that
they were voted into office.
Many voters now regret their actions,
but at the time did what they always do
which is to vote as they always have,
forgetting about critical thinking and
now the regrets when it may be too late.
There is an Omnipotent One and we can go to Him
with our concerns and ask for His help and guidance.
He instructed us to love. If everyone would
we seemingly would have a peaceful world
where we all would live in happiness and
there would be no strife. It seems impossible but
He promised us happiness after He has
separated the chaff from the wheat.
A single day of eternity is a long, long time.
Something to strive for. Peace in the valley.
My depression has lifted already

ABOUT FORGETTING
Once I loved then forgot what love was all about
Days and weeks turned into months and years
I crawled and clawed my way around looking
Things were never as they seemed to be
All was not well even though pretense was in play
Family problems only happen to someone else until
You are up to your neck in a quagmire of your own neglect
I say to hell with the key players
There were answers, but fear,
Although legitimate, is not an excuse you want to rely on
Abandonment or running away might have been answers
Prudence dictated that these should be abandoned
Reality can be subtle. Endurance is a better scheme
Than homelessness. Time does not heal all wounds
Abuse has repercussions and the memory stays true
Life goes on: the hiding of hurt dilutes your stamina
Deadly sins require more sorting out than time allows
Your own naturally good instincts are warped and
You spend your time trying to straighten out twisted wires
Hoping you can short-circuit something in your brain
People are sometimes puzzled by your quietness
Explanations are weak and futile. Facing up to
Your own innocence is sabotaged by your feelings of guilt
Counseling is a non-start and the futility of alcohol is obvious
The sins of the fathers are here to stay. There is no new day
Once I loved then forgot what love was all about

MY MEDITATION FOR FEBRUARY 7
The waiting is not always splendid
Many times accompanied by
Grief. Things done wrong or failed
To do now become regrets
Jesus died for us to absolve us
From the fretting and anguish
He wants us to do well
That is His focus.
Not evil which his death voided,
But works of good which will
Lift us along with others
Goodness is a release
Evil an anchor
Let us be good and do well
Amen

WHOSE CHILDREN ARE WE
We are not blessed with any blight
That will attack winter and slowly
Turn it into early spring.
How bad would that be
We are already twisted
The world is upside down
Nowhere to go to feel secure
Signs, mandates, fiats and
Outright orders which are destroying
Our country piece by piece
We complain but those that can
Are doing nothing so the ruin is on
I put my faith where it belongs
But faith must be accompanied
By action and action is difficult
If one does not know what to do
People are replaced by other people
And nothing changes
There is a pretense or order but
With cameras and graphics
Trickery has more reality than
Reality itself and people are sick
Sick of lies, condition and mostly
Sick of the Covid and the leaders
Creating laws for everyone
Except for themselves
They double down on expression
Then make no hesitation on
Going out and breaking their own
Commandments with ease and laughter
There will be no end to this as long
As control is the main focus
Government employees enjoy
The compensation and then we
Have the buying of votes doomed to
Keep things as they are
Too many are suffering for the sake
Of a few. Lucifer is making his run
Someone will pay. We wait and watch

MOON CRATERS
Looking out my window
I see the moon craters
Choppy and crumbly
Rocky and stumbling
No one is out walking
They like their skin
It is very cold
No words can describe
Why are we here
Whose idea to colonize
How long will fuel last
Will the engines start?
We are told to not worry
Very easy to say
I am one of eight
How many miles from home
Or from the earth station
What direction is up?
Are we still online?
Have we heard from Houston?
They are still celebrating
The president is happy
His first positive accomplishment
He is happy with his ice cream
We have three days here
To see how we survive
One of us is sick and the
General Doctor is stumped
The handwriting on the wall
Is not encouraging
We are down to seven
The body is shrink-wrapped
Beyond the craters is water
The sun glares in a blinding way
The dead one was the chief engineer
A rescue ship has been lifted
Houston has come to life
They can zero in on us
Save us from an ill fate
It is not over yet, but we have hope

FOURTEEN LINES ON STRUGGLE
Look upward for strength
Life’s answers do not come by
Pawning problems off to others
Inner security allows you to
Address your situations head-on
Not always a rosy picture
Walking away brings no satisfaction
Hesitation brings only delay
The route to success often comes
By experiencing failures
No need to put your head down
There will be no quitting
Pick yourself up:
You are not on the journey alone

A GOOD ROUTINE
I am very tired, but
There is much to do
No quitting at this time
More a time to renew
So I look at options
Choose a path to travel
Get the show together
Before it begins to unravel
Angels do no waiting
They have their orders
Proceed with every duty
Regardless of hall or corridor
Dark angels get in our way
Encourage us to slow down
Set up obstacles and roadblocks
Smile at our stumbling frown
But light overtakes this darkness
We pick up our pieces of courage
What once seemed impossible
Is nothing more than a mirage
I take a breath of fresh air
My load now seems lighter
I pick up my tools and begin
My day seems so much brighter

GROUNDHOG SMILES
The weather is great
A beautiful sunset
From my window, I could see
The golden dune grass
Waving in the soft breeze
This was while the weather reporters
Were predicting a huge snowstorm
Seven to ten inches; I proclaimed:
There shall be no snow before its time
Schools were canceled for two days
The next day; no snow; it was not time
That evening I could not see the sun and
It started to spit snow after dark
The next morning; I had to say: It is time
Six to twelve inches of lovely white snow
I started my snowblower
Worked for two hours clearing the drive
Also my parking area and some of the road
County workers had not yet arrived
There was no traffic except for one truck
It is February; the groundhog saw its shadow

A BREAK IN THE DAY
Abstract wishes
Mutterings of possibilities
Slipping away now
Before deaths claims
Puts an end
To all dreams and
Wishes become meaningless
The forlorn remains forlorn
Happy people laugh
Controllers control
Servers will serve tomorrow
Starters begin
Share the message
Bankers analyze
World keeps turning
Coyotes howl
Flowers bloom
The moon cycles
Rivers flow
Ashes of lost ones
Scatter in the wind
