We are painting ourselves

Into a corner and all according

To the Occupant’s plan.  He

Will reduce access to reliable,

Affordable energy, damage our

Economy, harm to the environment,

And undermine our security

Coal, oil, gas, and nuclear energy

Are needed for back up the

Destined to fail green energy plots

With no wind and no sun what are

We going to do for energy?  How

Many wind turbines are needed

To replace the energy from the

Nuclear plant in California?  Is there

Enough vacant land to house them?

Russia, China, and Iran are laughing

At us as we devote ourselves to

Avoiding climate change.  We can

Reduce emissions, but the climate

Changes on its own.  It is not heating

Up, and if anything is moving toward

Cooling down like it did when we had

A mini ice age.  We need refineries to

Produce gasoline.  There will never

Be enough electrical energy to keep

Our vehicles running.  How many cars

Run out of gasoline at the present time?

Can you imagine what it will be like when

Cars run out of battery energy and the

Line up to replenish their supply.  This is

Insane and to have it mandated is even

Worse.  Winter backups should be a

Real joy with cars running out of energy

The energy needed to recycle and dispose

Of worn equipment will be equal to the

Energy they supplied in the first place

This will be a complete wash.  The reasons

For doing this does not outweigh the

The negative impact.  We should wake up

And will when it is probably too late

Half the year is gone

It seemed pretty quick

No snow today, but

We got our share of rain

Now it is gray, no blue

Except for my feelings

I am feeling blue

The grass is mowed

It really looks nice, but

With no sun and just clouds

It can be quite depressing

For a holiday in the middle

Of the year.  We had some

Fireworks last night, but

Like everything else

Less is more.  You get less

And it costs more.  Just

When you were going to say

Wow, the show is over

The big show is tonight

It will not start until 10:30

Little children should be in bed

The weather will be chilly

The fireworks will start

There will be a lot of cheering

Many kids will be scared

And truth know everyone

Will be happy when the

Finally occurs.  Then the

Scrambling to the cars and

The drive home.  People

Won’t say it, but they will

Be glad that it is all over

Sunshine makes all the difference

It brings happiness with it

Clouds are depressing and

Tomorrow is a work day

Five days into the second

Half of the year.  Ads for

School clothes will begin

And optimism will be at

A low.  Where did the summer go?

The brightness was glaring

So early in the morning

Blue skies dotted with white clouds

People speak of escaping

Going somewhere peaceful

Birds are singing

Soft waves lapping the shore

A light breeze

You question decisions

Why escape from paradise

Some do not know what it takes

A little effort is always required

Rainbows are not free

Gold coins are needed

Contribute a few at each end

Stagger back home

You have found your peace

Visit a large city

Get dragged into the hum-drum

Ignored by everyone

Except for the panhandlers

The grass is not green

It is not even grass

Stores do not appeal

You are a no-one

There is no caring, except for

Your caring for peace

There are countries caring

They are helpless because of

The tyranny of their leaders

There is no chance until they

Break from their chattel

There will be that breaking point

Opportunity will then present

We watch this from afar

Realize what we have

The beauty of nature and

The challenge to keep it

Here is peace, although

Not always perfect

It towers the alternatives

Not because they

Can’t do anything,

But because they

Can do very little

To stop a party from

Taking us down the

Pathway to ruin

People say the

Occupant is failing, but

He and those pulling

His strings are being

Successful.  They are

Doing what it takes

To ruin the last great

Hope.  We can vote

But never will know

The true results of

An election.  The previous

Occupant turned our country

Around from its failing

Ways is defeated by

A man who has betrayed

His country with help

From his family and is put

In charge of damaging

Our country and our

Way of life.  Borders are

Opened, oil exploration

And drilling stopped

Pipelines shut down

Deals made with the Devil

Children dying of malnutrition

Country invaded by outcasts

Fentanyl taking two lives daily

Soldiers committing suicide

Begging enemies for oil

Watching Russia destroy Ukraine

Blotching Afghanistan with our

Soldiers dying.  Yes, we are

Frustrated and want change

Frustrated people

Not because they

Can’t do anything,

But because they

There is beauty everywhere

Sometimes you have to look

Think about the past

Plan for the future

There is much to live for

Projects to do

People to help

Keep yourself fit

Surprise your neighbors

Be a genius

Sing patriotic songs

Salute the flag

Happy Birthday America

Find new trails

Watch for birds

Be joyful

Share your love

Be at peace

Forgive others

Think before speaking

Offend no one

Honor the service men and women

Give thanks to the public workers

Volunteer when possible

Make others happy

Rabindranath Tagore wrote that God waits

For men to build His Temples with love

Men bring stones.  Today there is thunder

And rumbling in the heavens.  God is not

Happy.  He gave us free will and we eat

The forbidden fruit, pounce upon and

Curse our fellow men to diminish them

And enhance ourselves.  Lightning flashes

Across the skies.  He is lighting up the

Darkness we find ourselves in.  He gave

Us life and allowed us to develop and

Advance and still we have thirst, along

With hunger.  We have a nation which

Because of ego, flattens another country,

Ukraine along with Russia, is the

Breadbasket, ruined by war causing shortages,

Hunger and starvation.  God is ignored.

Humanitarian efforts are blocked by the

Soviets. They have long term plans,

Which include suppression of other

Eastern Europe countries who are

Fruitlessly looking at us for help.  We

Have few words of encouragement by

A non-functioning occupant who is

Confused and doesn’t know where

He is most of the time.  He offers stones.

Here we are a divided country, have

Forgotten what love means and to

Show how powerful he is the occupant

Following orders has shut down pipelines,

Drilling for oil, has a crisis at our

Southern border, inflation at a 40 year

High, a catastrophic withdrawal from

Afghanistan, and politicians fighting

Each other.  There is little hope for

Resolution as problems escalate and

We are forgetting about replacing

Stones with love and promising to

Solve things with more spending and taxes

Yes, we have free wills and the grain

Will someday be separated from the chaff

The whole thing is

Vivid dreams are not the normal

When one has such an occurrence

It may be a pleasant experience

Creativity often is the outcome

Ideas, ten years old, come to life

People who said no, now say yes

The dream I had was to cover-up

Permanent art on the walls of the

School.  You can’t do that.  It wouldn’t

Be fair to the artist.  My idea was to

Cover up the wall art with a flexible

Canvas that would slide open at the

Push of a button.  It would compliment

The original and give other artists ideas

For new projects or to make smaller

Works based on the larger renditions

Small works, ornaments, mugs, and

Various other works of art evolved

New techniques and styles were

Used to create the canvas cover

There was doubt, but when

Implemented the new creativity

Was widely accepted and copied

Across the land.  It pays to not

Give up on ideas that you think have

Merit.  The world of art has many

Quirks and styles as do dreams

Monday you wash the whites

And Tuesday you do the colors

I am curious as to why

A sunny Tuesday would be

Great for air-drying whites

And a grouchy Monday

Would be good for colors

I didn’t make up the order

Which is generally followed

All over the country

Today with the machinery

Available, it seems that

Laundry is done every day

Regardless of the clothes

Color.  The big thing is to

Get it done and stay on top

Of things so that you do not

Have a pile of dirty clothes

Which will take forever to do

Ironing is not a favorite of many

So that has the tendency to pile up

I used to have a mangle which

Was a marvelous machine once

You got the hang of things

I think it was designed for flat work

But over the years talent emerged

So that shirts and pants could be

Rolled out a rapid clip

Many today do not know what

A mangle is but I will never forget

And with I could find on old used one

The chances of finding one are slim

So the steam iron will have to do

There is a lot of satisfaction from

Looking at a line of ironed shirts

Accomplishment brings euphoria

And we live for that good feeling

Bring on the dirty docks

The bells were ringing in Santa Fe

A pope had been elected

White smoke

Bells ringing all over the city

On San Francisco Street stood

Saint Francis Cathedral

The bells kept ringing

Then it was announced

That the man from Argentina

Was going to take the name

Francis.  When this was known

The bells rang louder than before

The city was abuzz, proud and happy

One day in the life of a city

Probably forgotten by most

After the initial impact

A way of life that is hard to explain

The world does not change and its

People certainly do not because

There seems to be no difference

Celebrations last for just a moment

Then it is all forgotten except for

Occasional blurb from the pope

Which also is soon forgotten

One day, the day of the white smoke

Was exceptional for the people of

Santa Fe if only for a brief time

We need leadership that encourages

We to follow in the footsteps of Jesus

Unfortunately, in my opinion, pushes

To the left where there are more

Takers than givers; Jesus went the

Other way and His way is the way

I choose.  Don’t be outraged; the

Pope is still the leader and will be

Until he dies or retires

I sit and think as I look

On a blank sheet of paper

I hope something comes

To my mind that I can muse on

I read the Mercy Report

My stomach flips as I see

Disasters around the globe

The conflict in Ukraine is

Four months old and the

Country is flattened

Many Ukrainians sought

Refuge in Poland and Romania

Mostly women and children

With scant belongings

Looking for opportunity

To support their families

And meet their basic needs

Many countries were dependent

On Ukraine and Russia for

Wheat, corn, sunflower oil,

And fertilizer.  Farmers are

Going to be prevented from

Harvesting winter cereals, maize

Sunflower seeds, will

Cause prices to rise around the

World.  The impact on countries

In the Middle East is concerning

Yemen, Syria, and Lebanon are

Dependent on imported food

Which they are already struggling

To afford.  Prices and shortages

Are factors and inflation is

Rampart since the war

The world will forget, but

The emergency will continue

It is for us to step up with our

Humanitarian efforts as long

As needed.  We do have problems

But nothing like this crisis

We have much to be thankful

For in the midst of the world’s misery
