SMOKE GETS IN YOUR EYES

The prevailing wing was from

The north-northwest and it

Carried smoke from the forest

Fires in Canada. We have had

Many gray days including those

Caused by the fires in California,

And are ready now for some

Regular summer days. It is

Amazing how one little match

Could cause such an upset in

Normal weather patterns, but

It does and those fighting the

Fire are truly heroes. They do

Their job with little individual

Recognition and never seem

To complain. We could all learn

Lessons from these brave

Fire fighters. We can only

Thank them and pray for them.

BLACKBIRDS

Black birds flying in a scattered way across the

Landscape gives you a thrill as you watch them

They have their own language and are members

Of a family and behave much like our families.

They have scouts to give warnings of danger and

Some who find sources of food. They protect their

Innocents and watch out for them. They in reality

Set a good example for us. If they could only make

Our feathers shing.

Two little girls who are quite young

Their thoughts out size their clothes

Once familiar with you in the situation

They would meld into what would

Become a happy experience.

On the phone they were one-worders

They would holler our, “hello” or

“happy birthday” or whatever the

Occasion might be. Their interest lasts

For a few minutes, then they are

Back to what they were doing.

They love receiving mail, especially

Pictures and paper to draw on

Or scribble the best words they could.

They are happy children and are

Generally expressing joy. They

Will yell out goodbye when it

Is time do hang up. I feel lucky

Having two great-grandchildren

Who always seem to be happy.

They are never bored and bring

A sense of gladness to those

Around them.
