The smoke so thick
It makes you sick
Coming from Canada
A short trip
But enough to cause havoc
This is summer and a time
To enjoy the weather
But so far fires in
California and Canada
Have put a damper on it
Not many on the beach
Or playing water sports
It is dismal but there is
Nothing you can do
So you adapt. The smell
Of smoke and its presence
Makes it difficult to breathe
The condition has lasted
For several weeks with just
A few sunny days breaking
Up the monotony and
Discomfort. We will survive
And so will the animals. A
Few older folks may suffer
Death or exhaustion, but
That is the way of life. One
Never kows, wo it would be
Wise to prepare. This will end.
