EASTER SUNDAY
Easter Sunday. Snow and wind
A bright sky with gray clouds
The sun peeks out on occasion.
This makes us happy but doesn’t
Put us in the mood to sing
In your Easter Bonnet, but
We accept what we have
Received. We are not special
And do not deserve to have
Everything go our way. I like
Easter bonnets. They remind
Me of England, where hats
Are worn in a magnificent way
For any and all occasions.
Traditions change from time to time
And still, we always have something to
Hold on to. There will be a day
When none of this matters but
There will be something new to
Hang on to. We are not fickle
It is just the way it is.
