Indian summer today
Rain last night
Bright sunny morning
Treetops catch the sun.
You think of spring, but
Know it is a long way off.
So, we settle on the
Beauty of today.
The inland sea is calm.
No birds swimming or
Diving for food. The trees
Are still, waiting for an
Introduction. They have
Songs to sing and are ready.
Thanksgiving this week. We
All know that even in the
Midst of trouble in the world
There is still much to be
Thankful for. Covid wiped out
About two years of normal living
And new cases are being reported.
Under God’s grace and angels’ wings
It will play itself out. Millions of travelers
May be at risk. Airports will most likely
Be a nightmare. Prayer is needed.
And thanksgiving as well as the
Appreciation of Indian Summer,
Another gift we take for granted.
