Isn’t it true that we all have a vision?

A marvelous life full of peace

No more violence to contend with

Problems that have solutions

Our time freed up so we can

Live in harmony with nature

This can be the reality

We must realize this and work for it

Hour by hour and day by day

We cannot dream it away problems

But rather anticipate condition and react

Peace comes from forgiveness, from

Not holding ourselves above others

We must be passionate in what we do

Have compassion for others at all times,

Even when difficult and at a time when

We, ourselves, are in a difficult struggle

Spend time with little children

Teach them how to smile and

Imitate us as we care for things,

Including our pets and the wild animals

Let them help us feed the birds and squirrels

Visit and sing to the sick

Avoid messing up our earth

Work our gardens and arrange flowers

Create beauty in harmony with nature

Keep our homes clean and inviting

Stay true to ourselves and stay calm

Do not provoke others into anger

Work in our community for justice

Look out for those needing help

This is a magnificent vision

We must be constantly aware

It will become natural to us

Feed us new energy so we can

Live what we believe and

Reach for all we want

We sense the miracles of life

There is story after story of verification

Still we have the factor of release

The letting go of our security piece is

So difficult, because we deny ourselves peace

A person alone sees a rare sight, then

Observes and calls out to another close by

A language barrier intervenes

But the commonality of appreciation

Almost cannot be described

Each will go their own way, but

For one moment had intimacy

With each other short of marriage

Miracles of life understood – two

Individuals never to meet again

Echo’s in mountains claim attention

A percent of life repeats and repeats

Never satisfied we boldly pursue

Waiting for replies we know won’t be true

Adventure moves us forward in understanding

Wave meeting waves from different projections

Breakout bubbles in measurable equations

At any one time cover nearly five percent of

Our land mass.  Hard to believe

We never think or seldom do of these things

Think of granules of sand often so sharp

They could cut.  Movement by wind or water

Changes them over the millenniums to

Sugar sand under the microscopes

Lethal weapons if they could be enlarged

We live our lives in a vague ignorance

Unaware of intricacies common or rare

Share no opinions on the earth’s repair

Could almost care less until a protest

Ignore how success has been undermined

Life will advance with or without us

Developments noteworthy or kept silent

Microbes, viruses, bacterial invasion

Little knowledge of how to react, except

To blame the experts who have let us down

We are racing to nowhere and

It is no surprise that we are gaining

Once there we will react

Sit down, order coffee and stare

No purpose, no intent

Just normal reaction to insidiousness

A smoldering fire, slowly burning out

Repeating what has been repeated before

Dejection is the lonely outcome

We see it too often in a place

Where joy and gratefulness should prevail

We cannot see; we cannot think beyond now

Are sequestered by ourselves into

A frustrated and lonely state

Excellent at finding fault, but

Very slow with the proposal of solutions

Jack London said it best

Rather than the aforementioned smoldering

He would rather be a blazing comet

Flashing across the sky for just a few moments

Having some form of meaning is everything

Some measure of success is necessary

To give us a feeling of belonging and

Save us from the scourge of emptiness

Too many of us are resolute

Unwilling to change for any reason and

Then dismayed when they missed

The last train to somewhere

Throw it all away, I say

The blame, frustration and idleness

Throw yourself into life and its nuances

Start singing “What a Wonderful World”

O Lord, you have taught us all

We must know in order for

Us to enter your kingdom for

eternal life. The Holy Spirit is

within us to guide us. We must

follow your precepts and continue

to do the unfinished work about us.

We have many opportunities and

So many times, we do not take

Advantage of them. We will be

Held to account so it would be wise

To stand up whenever we get the

Chance. This is what we should do

and what you would want. Those

who ignore their duty will never be

happy. We should love everyone and

show our kindness. When we do,

we honor you. Sometimes the path

is difficult but that is why the Holy

Spirit is there to help us. We should be

Strong when it matters and never

hesitate to do the work you have

assigned to us.

Every day it seems is a new season

In one week we can go from snow to eighty

The sky offers different patterns of clouds

Sunshine gives us different shades of beauty

Beauty if found everywhere

Sometimes you just have to look for it

Maybe it takes an old man to point this out

It is best to take each day and live it

We cannot put it on hold and

Then come back later to claim it

In life we get in totality, one chance

We do not want to waste these

And then hope for them later

When the lake sings and the wind blows

Listen because it is a one-time presentation

Gardens glow because we care about them

This is the stuff of life and beauty

Don’t ever let go of this notion

Life is the four seasons

Once you have seen them, you have seen life

The Holy Spirit is with us.

He will keep us calm along the path.

Although the journey is arduous,

We have the tools to continue.

We do not know where it will end.

It is not for us to know.

We keep our eyes focused on victory.

The enemy keeps us on our toes and aware.

Some will never learn and are content.

They do a hip-hip-hooray for their side.

Ready to follow them over the cliff.

I ask about their critical thinking.

They are big fish in a small pond.

They feel good about their position.

Others eat out of their hand.

They are always ready to deny the truth.

They succeed under false pretenses.

They are admired for their success.

There will be a day for reconciliation.

We have read about it in the Bible.

Many have forgotten about,

The sermon on the mount.

This lapse will not be accepted as an excuse.

Good and gentle people have the edge.

They have struggled and succeeded with joy.

They have honored their Savior with love.

They have helped their fellow man with service.

They have not looked for acclaim from anyone,

And have not waived the flag of victory,

But the one that says to serve the Lord.

Although ragged they are happy, for they

have landed a room in the Fathe’s house.
