The inland sea reflecting the sun

off the rippling waves reminds me

of the lightning bugs on warm

summer evenings. Even they

cannot compare with the light

which is sent storming off the

water.  Nothing compares with

that light that we know of. We

are that dark in our world, where

people are enslaved and prevented

from living a full life. Little children

are put to work all day making rugs

They are paid pittance when you

see the quality of their work. Somehow

they come up smiling, knowing that

this will be the norm for a long time.

Countries are conquered for their

resources and most are finite which

means added measures must be taken

We have leaders who sell our limited

supply of uranium to countries who

threaten our freedom. No one knows

where the money goes after it is

received by the Foundation. The

coverups cannot be exposed by the

light currently. Other heinous crimes

are committed to our dismay and the

perpetrators walk around as though

nothing has happened. The truth will

eventually be known, and at that time

the true light which overcomes all

darkness will be shining, and many evil

people will be trembling with fear. They

know that they will be paying for their

bite of the forbidden fruit. They will

say that they didn’t know, but that excuse

will not hold water, and soon, the gnashing

of teeth will be heard. A mighty force

will lead like a shepherd leads his flock.

We will be living in peace. The peace

which was meant to be.

Wolfs scratch at my door

Silence

Last candle snuffed out

Fire tampered

Sleep ensued

Morning dawns

Met with hunger

Just a few scraps

Mostly saved for dogs

Fear non-existent

Prayers for safety

Animals pull sled

A new life looms

Alone, trusting

Destination uncertain

Food and water needed

Strangers look away

Barely surviving

Move on slowly

An abandoned farmhouse

A quick search

Stray canned goods found

Fruit, meat

Meaning living on

Dogs revived

Keep moving

Stumble upon

Stranger in need

Disrupts plan

New priority

Help and protect

Once restored he

Leads on a new path

Speaks of opportunity

Just over there

Beyond the river

Over the mountain

Down in a valley

A village prospering

Welcomes new talent

Overwhelming joy

Thanksgiving

Life begins once more

In the United Kingdom

A group has decided that

We should bring no more

Babies into the world until

The climate is under control

They are thinking about

Their future and the good

chance that there will

Be no food or water as

Our planet is destroyed

This is the consensus of

The scientists, they say

They get shrill when challenged

Consensus is not science

The earth was the center

Of the universe, according

To the consensus and

The earth was flat

Y2K would be the end of

Civilization.  It wasn’t

Polar ice caps are now

The largest in recorded history

NYC is still above sea level

Most species are rediscovered

Never endangered; just relocated

The ocean is warming because

Of man, but only one-tenth

Of one degree in the last fifty years

If it continues at this pace it

Will rise one degree in 500 years

Is that good or bad?  We don’t know

Maybe unborn babies, had

they been conceived would

Have solved perceived problems

Nature is unpredictable

If man could cause change

man could correct any errors made

Forest mismanagement

has led to terrible disasters

This is science

Where is the outrage

Where did the money go?

Immigration laws are

Ignored and broken

We need enforcement

Women are molested and raped

Will they be encouraged to

Give birth or abort?

Who will make the next

Great discovery?

Global cooling became man-made

Global warming and when

that didn’t hold; we changed the term

To climate change; consensus

But not science

Big money in the carbon business

Ask Alfred Gore, Jr.

People exploited

Industries shut down

Renewable energy called cheap because

It is subsidized.  All a hoax

And now, no babies

This is not a solution, but a directive

A cause to find solitude, but

In solitude we find our recklessness;

Drivenness; compulsiveness, an urge to

Act quickly; to make an impact; have

Influence and relevance while avoiding

The fire, earthquakes, and the wind

Solutions will come when we yield to the

quiet voice within, which centers us with

Reality and urges humility

Today there are five basic needs. They are

the “feeling of Belonging”, the ”Opportunity

to do things helpful to others”, “Security”,

“Accomplishment” and “Recognition”.

If we have these, then we can get along well

in our lives. There are modifiers such as normal,

respectful, humble, sharing, consideration, and

example. It is difficult to stay on the straight

and narrow. Matthew tells us that the scribes

and the Pharisees have taken their seat on the

chair of Moses. Therefore, do and observe all

things whatsoever they tell you, but do not

follow their example. For they preach but

they do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens

that are hard to carry and lay them on people’s shoulders,

but they will not lift a finger to move them. 

All their works are performed to be seen.

They widen their phylacteries and lengthen

their tassels. They love places of honor at

banquets, seats of honor in synagogues,

greetings in marketplaces, and the salutation

“Rabbi”. You have but one teacher, and you

are all brothers. Call no one on earth your father;

you have but one Father in heaven.

Do not be called Master; you have but one master,

the Christ. The greatest among you must be your

servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled;

but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

These are powerful words, but if followed will

bring great joy to your lives. The master bore

His cross, but what we are asked is nothing

compared to that. However, we must earn

our reward and happiness while being grateful.

the goodness we find in

the light and know that

the things of the devil

are things of the night

and darkness. We should

not be afraid of the

darkness but bring the

good things of the light

with us. This light will

overcome all darkness.

We all are aware that Jesus raised

Lazarus from the dead and was

anointed with expensive oils by

Mary, the mother of Jesus and

brother of Lazarus. Judas expresses

his disdain because he says the oils

could have been sold, and the proceeds

could have been used to help the poor.

Everyone knew that Judas was only

interested in getting his hands on

the money. People came to see

Jesus and Lazarus, and this bothered

the High Priests who felt that too  

many Jews were beginning to follow

Jesus so they tried to plot against

Jesus and Lazarus. Judas was a thief,

the priests were concerned about

their own loss, some men didn’t

care what happened and some

rejoiced at the wonder of Jesus.

God was merciful in regard to

Lazarus. We should not get

distracted by worldly concerns,

but stay focused on our journey

with Jesus.

We should not act as heroes

for doing what we are expected

to do if we wish to claim a seat

in our Father’s house. Jesus gave

us instructions, and He didn’t say

if you do this or that, but when

you do it you will become heirs

to the kingdom. We must remember

this every day. There is much work

to be done. We cannot neglect the

poor and helpless and expect to be

called a hero when we finally do

something worthwhile. What we

do may be good, but it is what we

are expected to do unceasingly for

all of our life. There may be excuse

after excuse on why we didn’t, but

these excuses will not exonerate us

from what was and is our duty. It is

never too late to begin. There is

honor in joining others in doing the

work of the lord. When we join

others in doing this work, we are

blessed with a feeling of joy. We

are fulfilled and wonder why we

didn’t begin sooner. We may ask

for forgiveness for our past failures

as we proceed with our new way

of living. This is the only way we

will find the peace we are looking

for. It is in giving that we are filled.

It is  not a pretty sight to see the damage done in

Syria and Turkey as a result of the earthquake.

The countries are ravaged and over 40,000 people

have died plus many more injured. No one should

have to suffer in this way. Starvation and dehydration

are claiming lives and soon disease will be rampant.

One may wonder if what happened is an answer to

the genocide of the Armenians by Turkey and Azerbaijani.

It is claimed that over a million Armenians lost their lives.

There are still disagreements over what took place at

that time, but a similar event to a lesser degree took

place just a few years ago. Fighting over territory is

ongoing and we Americans are involving ourselves

to the point of no return. History’s lessons have not

been learned and while we are protecting the Ukraine

border ae are ignoring our southern border which is

being invaded daily along with sex-slaves, and deadly

drugs, especially fentanyl. The administration is doing

nothing to stop this and just says don’t use addicting

drugs and drive electric vehicles. Would an electric train

have stopped the mishap in East Palestine, Ohio?

Are we paying attention to our electric grid system

or are we at risk of permanent black our which would

bring our country to an end. We cannot stop snowfall,

rain, dry spells, tornados, hurricanes, and flooding,

but we can stop trying to interfere with nature,

use our safety checks and develop a way for peaceful

coexistence in our world. There is a master plan over

which we have no control. Those who are evil will never

concede this and go on living, hoping they are right.

Ignoring the obvious is never the answer. We must

wake up soon.

ABOUT THE EARTHQUAKE

I put a dot with my pencil

on my pad. I look at it,

just a dot. What is the point?

I think about it as I, too, am

puzzled. There is a point.

I can see it and I want to have

the meaning or significance

seep into my brain. I think,

what is the point of this or

what is the point of that.

I look at the condition of

the world and why must

it be this way. That is a

point worth considering.

Why is there always a bully

on the playground who is

usually a coward. You know

they exist. In politics, the one

with the loudest voice is the

intimidator. Many good ideas

are shot down because of this

loudmouth. It is ego, power, and

control.  The same things happen

on the world stage. The dictator

with the biggest gun keeps the

rest of the world in check. If he

should nudge for more territory,

there is usually a breakout of war

or certain groups of people are

annihilated. We wonder what is

the point in all of this and that is

just the point. The evil forces are

usually conquered by the enemy

or disease, and we have a reshuffle

of power. It will go on this way

because this is the way of mankind.

Whe the Supreme Being has had

enough then the big curtain will

come down and man will be

rewarded according to his deeds.

Then we will all see the point.
