WHERE BEAUTY TAKES US

The sky was awesome

Looking up through

The Birch tree leaves

Blue and cloudless

With the fragrance

And the sounds of nature

One felt relief from

The chaos of the world

Deep faith was renewed

Unbelievable ecstasy

No longing for tomorrow

This was today and a gift

There would be time

For problem-solving later

Now we were on a joy run

But the inner feelings

Could not forget

The downtrodden and

Homeless and hungry

We have so much to be

Thankful for and much to

Give back to others

This is the task at hand

Outlined by the teachings

We believe in and what

We want to be involved in

It is not an easy task and

Unfortunately is ever-present

We have the means and

The desire to follow the One

No one said it would be easy

No one said the sky would

Be so magnificently blue

It was given to us and

Now we prepare ourselves

To give back to the fullest

Of our abilities; sacrifice

May be necessary, but

Haven’t others given of

Themselves for us?

We are blessed people

Not we must pay it forward

A GOOD ROUTINE

I am fatigued, but

There is much to do

No quitting at this time

More time to renew

So I look at options

Choose a path to travel

Get the show together

Before it begins to unravel

Angels do no waiting

They have their orders

Proceed with every duty

Regardless of hall or corridor

Dark angels get in our way

Encourage us to slow down

Set up obstacles and roadblocks

Smile at our stumbling frown

But light overtakes this darkness

We pick up our pieces of courage

What once seemed impossible

Is nothing more than a mirage

I take a breath of fresh air

My load now seems lighter

I pick up my tools and begin

My day seems so much brighter

WHAT WE MUST DO

We are here in this moment and must realize that

we have self-imposed duties and obligations.

We must defend our God-given rights and freedom.

To not do this leaves us vulnerable to being controlled by

those who have evil intentions which go against the precepts

given to us by the Almighty.  We must defend our first amendment rights,

our second amendment rights, and the rights of all the amendments.

We must fight and pray for the sanctity of life; respect and honor

our veterans and first responders.  We must vote out of office

those who in two short years have pushed our country as far left as possible.

They are engaged in the destruction of what was

the last great hope of the world.

We must stop supporting companies that are funding the left,

paying for their votes on laws that hurt the public in general and

put us in a hole that will be hard to escape from.

We must support candidates who will attempt to move us back to

solvency and order and who will respect the constitution and not

embolden those working against this.  We must replace judges who

are making up rules and ignoring the rules of the law.  It is a tall order but

those who think clearly and critically must get out and vote with the deplorable.

Then after the midterm elections, we must attempt to restore our country

to what it was before the Covid virus set us back, and then the present occupier

who did everything he could to undo what the previous administration had accomplished.

Then get ready for the Presidential election in 2024.  We must pray for enlightenment

and through our vote attempt to drain the swamp.  If we can do this then

we can proudly chant USA<USA<USA until our hearts are content.

JESUS CALLING, DECEMBER 12

Jesus Calling, December 12

INSPIRATION – Jesus Calling

by Sarah Young

I am taking care of you. Feel the warmth and security of being enveloped in My loving Presence. Every detail of your life is under My control. Moreover, everything fits into a pattern for good, to those who love Me and are called according to My design and purpose.

Because the world is in an abnormal, fallen condition, people tend to think that chance governs the universe. Events may seem to occur randomly, with little or no meaning. People who view the world this way have overlooked one basic fact: the limitations of human understanding. What you know of the world you inhabit is only the tip of the iceberg. Submerged beneath the surface of the visible world are mysteries too vast for you to comprehend. If you could only see how close I am to you and constantly I work on your behalf, you would never again doubt that I am wonderfully caring for you. This is why you must live by faith, not by sight; trusting in My mysterious, majestic Presence.

Romans 8:28

Amplified Version
And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.

Job 42:1-3
English Standard Version
1 Then Job answered the Lord and said:
2 “I know that you can do all things,
and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
3 ‘Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?’
Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand,
things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.

I Peter 5:7
English Standard Version
casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

2 Corinthians 5:7

English Standard Version
for we walk by faith, not by sight.

TOLERANCE

Tolerance is a funny word. It can mean

that you are humble in putting up wilt

a condition that you do not agree with.

You don’t like it but you will go along

with it if it will bring peace to a situation.

In life we tolerate many things and to list

them all one would run out of paper.

To be a leader you move forward with

agendas that everyone doesn’t like but

are for the common good. When you

are tired there is no desire to get about

your business and that is when guilt

sets in which may lead to depression

and anger. It would be better to think

things through before making a stance.

Your first impression may dissolve as

you encompass the full meaning of

what you are denying. Few people

can do this because they are crowd

led or have pride that will not be

overcome. People have other reasons.

They do not wish to be exposed as

trying to be what they are not. They

have made claims which are not true

and try to keep them undercover.

The country is divided politically,

but we progress, mostly because

egos are reigned in in favor of respect.

We have many religions, but the same

God Almighty. We respect rather than

tolerate this situation. We are sometimes

victims of anger and we have no idea

what caused it and had to tolerate it

until the time when the truth of the

matter is exposed. Returning the anger

does no good so we endure and respond

with kindness. If we cannot tolerate

condition then we should do what

we can in an effort to change it.

Little things can mean a lot in

this upside down world we live in.

CONTENTMENT

It is very bright today. Yesterday there was no snow on

the tree branches and today they bow down from the

snow’s weight as though trying to show their respect.

The bare ground has eight inches of fresh snow, and

we are locked in until the roads are cleared. The

brightness is blinding and I do not feel bad for myself

because I am content. There are many civil servants,

merchants, medical personnel, and administrators who

must be out in this to perform their duties. I feel for

them. Schools are closed and I worry for the parents

as children are restless these days after the Covid-19

incident with all its complexities. It would be a good

time to grasp all the realities and settle down. Maybe

begin anew with regulations of value which would

bring everyone together with the feeling of contentment.

At our worst we have it better than most. There is

hunger in our community for orderly progress without

all the bickering by those who want control and whose

egos are too large in comparison to their abilities.

There is also real hunger in families where drugs and

gambling have taken over sensibilities. There are jobs

but some prefer not to work and live from others tax

dollars. There is no contentment when there is hunger,

abuse, and depression. When blame is brought up

conflicts begin and do not end well. The men behind

the pulpits on Sundays could address this, and do

to some extent, but the congregations keep diminishing

due to death and people walking away from the Word.

For contentment we need love, honor, and respect

and what is so bad about love, peace, and understanding.

Adopting them will bring a great deal of what we are looking for.

EARLY JANUARY

EARLY JANUARY

Some people have the blues.

I have the grays. A gray porch,

shoreline, lake water, sky, and shirt.

I long for some sunshine and

early spring. I know that this is selfish,

but I can’t help it. All my grays are

luxury compared to what some people

are going through especially in eastern

Europe, eastern Africa, the Caribbean,

and the flooded and hurricane-struck

states in our own country. I am not really

complaining about my situation but would

be happy to see some change. The snow

from the blizzard is gone so I see brown green

grass, covered in part by leaves. The evergreen

trees have shaken all the snow from their

branches. There is some snow laying on the

forest ground. It contrasts with the bark on

the trees. The image knocks on the door of

creativity. We all long for that talent.

The hustle and bustle of the Christmas season

is over and the advertising goes on as if we really

needed more stuff. Some are depressed because

they didn’t get what they wanted, and others

are happy because they, by nature, are givers.

The storm kept many churches closed and

services were delayed for a week. They took

place then, but it wasn’t the same feeling.

I get the idea that the spirituality of the season

is lost to a pagan world which rears its selfish

head this time of the year. I just saw eleven

Cormorants flying low over the gray, wavy lake

and thought of the wise men arriving late at the

stable where Christ was born. At least they

showed up, the wise men that is.

WALKING THE PATH AND WONDERING

I started my walk at the edge of the woods.

This was usual and I seldom varied. Today,

however, I did not follow the path down

to the water but went the other way to

see what changes may have taken place

since I had last been here. I was surprised

by the growth of the shrubs and evergreens

as well as the ground cover. Little animals

fairy-like were running about as though they

did not like my intrusion. I thought a story

could be written about them and their domain,

but I think that has been done more than once

so, I filed that notion in the back of my mind.

Larger birds like owls and hawks were flying

haphazardly from tree to tree. There has been

a real takeover I thought, and I was not supposed

to be part of it. I continued and came to a camp

sight that was occupied by gypsies. They invited

me to join them for lunch. I accepted and as

we ate we carried on a conversation that led me

to believe that they were planning to stay for a while.

I reminded them of the zoning rules and the

ownership of the land and they told me that they

had already been advised, but planned to stay

if possible. I realized that it was my land

that they were “camping” on and having had lunch

with them, my action may be misconstrued as having

given them permission. This is going to be interesting.

I thought about it on my return and when I arrived

at my usual path I took it down to the water

where the rippling music put me at peace.
