The power of nature is something to behold.
Waves that were landing near the shore are
no longer near. They have formed ice slush
about one hundred feet out from where they
were. When they hit this mountain, they will
sometimes send a spindrift fifteen feet high.
It is awesome to watch. The temperature
is 35 but feels like 15 and the dampness is
bone-chilling. The horizon is difficult to see
and except for the trees, everything is some
shade of gray. It is still a day and a gift to be
thankful for. Roads are slippery and black ice
can be fooling and dangerous. The wise will
stay home unless duty calls them elsewhere.
it is a joy to see neighbors helping each other
when necessary, but you feel a sadness when
you think of all the misery there is in the world.
We ask: When will we ever learn? but the
answer seems obvious. If we do learn, we don’t
care and keep on making others suffer to control
them. We take away from them the things that
give them joy including their places of worship.
We enslave others for the purpose of benefiting
ourselves. This behavior will have to be answered
for and when there is no answer the guilty will be
prosecuted in one way of another. Our country
came together to form a perfect union, but like
elsewhere corruption has dismantled our
intentions and we have become a split nation
with one half wanting total control while the
other wishes for equal opportunities for all.
The waves seem to have order. They are alike
but independent with some staying low while
others reach high, and in the end when the
wind slowdown they will settle into a calmness
that we could learn from. There is always hope.
