How to get to there from here

Begin the task step-by-step

Apply your style with ease

Know the job will take a while

Completion comes in degrees

You’ve tasted the joy of the finish

No need to question or diminish

Others attempt, but don’t see it through

They’ll never have the exuberant joy

Maybe didn’t try hard enough

Success is not a windup toy

You did it.  It wasn’t a quirk and

Satisfaction came with the work

Contemplating

Meditating

No negativity

Vibrations are important

Influence them properly

I look in the mirror

Hello beautiful

So uplifting

So positive

Anxious to get going

Spread the joy

Remember Who is with me

My riding partner

My friend

I still look

Even knowing

The leaving took place

No shadows remain

Doubt is there:

Did it really happen or

Were sleep and dreams

Playing a trick on me

Peek around the corner

Just curiously

Nothing there

Only fleeting memories

The light is low

I had to know

Everything that was

Is now out of sight

I hear the wind and

Dry leaves that rustle

It is difficult to

Pull my eyes away from

What I don’t see

The absence is mystifying

I find myself looking

EVEN THOUGH TIMES ARE DIFFICULT,

WE ARE STILL INVOLVED IN THE THINGS WE DO

IT MAY BE EASY TO FIND EXCUSES

FOR LOSING OUR WAY OR GIVING UP

WHAT GOOD ARE THEY AS WE TAKE A CLOSER LOOK

WHO WOULD FAULT US IF WE DRIFT OR STRAY

WOULD ANYONE NOTICE IF WE SHOW DISCONTENT

SHOULD WE VACATE TO AVOID THE RENT

WHAT WOULD THE CONSEQUENCE BE OR

THE UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES AS IF IN A DREAM

OH THEY WOULD UNDERSTAND AND THEY KNOW IT IS TOUGH

COMPASSION FOR YOU IN SPITE OF YOUR FLUFF

NO, MY FRIEND, THIS IS NOT THE WAY. 

THERE ARE ENOUGH GAMES THAT HAVE TO BE PLAYED

WHEN YOU KNOW, WHEN YOU HAVE A CLUE

YOU DON’T GET AWAY WITH THOSE THINGS YOU DO

EVEN THOUGH THE BURDENS ARE DIFFICULT TO ENDURE

WE ARE STILL INVOLVED IN THE THINGS WE DO

THE OUTCOMES WE SEEK ARE STILL INTACT AND

PATHWAYS ARE LONGER AND HILLS ARE STEEP

WE START EARLIER, WORK LONGER AND

LATER PREPARE FOR THE NEXT EVENT

WE ARE THE LIGHT AS WE REMAIN

A CUT ABOVE FOR ALL TO SEE

AND FOR THEM TO FOLLOW SUIT AND

INCORPORATE INTO THEIR PHILOSOPHY

THIS GUIDANCE MAY SEEM SIMPLE,

BUT SO IS A SIGN TO MARK A TRAIL

THE SUCCESS IS IN THE SHOWING UP

THE REWARD IS IN THE DOING

AND THE KNOWING THAT WITHIN US IS THE HERO

OFTEN MASKED AS ENLIGHTENMENT

Clutter in every direction

causes forgetfulness

Something was in mind,

but now it is lost

The excuse for the situation

becomes a horn-blowing

Multi-tasking took one

on the wrong path and

like a fall to the ground

can be painful

Oh, I wish for this again,

it has been eighteen months

since I wished first, but

with no action taken

situations will remain the same

and all the wishing in the world

will not change this

The apparent desire to be

mired in paperwork becomes

a cover for malfeasance

We ponder as we wake

Look out the window

See gray skies

Hear the wind blow

There are no ducks

Swimming on the lake

Seems they have packed it in

For the journey, they must take

They follow the successful ritual

No need to play the fake

As for us, we are going nowhere

We think it is too lovely here

So we will wait for Santa

And all of his reindeer

On Dasher, on Dancer,

One Prancer and Cupid

Enough of that

Don’t want to sound stupid

We have prepared

The best we could do

Not back to indoors

A few projects to do

We will have a good time

Waiting for spring, but

First the struggle through winter

That has a familiar ring

The summer was good

Temperatures just right

Not hot under the collar

No urges to fight

So here we are with

Daylight savings time

I don’t like it

Others think it is fine

Are the animals confused?

They don’t seem to mind

Now we will wait for spring

Hear the familiar voices ring

Listen for the music of the waves

And for the birds who sing

The morning light is just breaking 

Waves have been breaking all night

I have a feeling of jitteriness

It is all about the world’s condition

And all about the election

Dark morning clouds are in the sky

Here and there are breaks of light

A great number of people must

Like the situation in our country

High fuel prices, inflation, open

Border, Fentanyl deaths, suicides

Sex trafficking, no drilling or mining

Loss of high-paying jobs and the

Impossible movement toward

Electric vehicles.  These people

In a sense voted to keep things

As they are.  In Pennsylvania

One candidate held up a pink

Tee-shirt that read Fetterwomen

There is a sickness, deeply ingrained

Into many people.  Their side has to win

There are consequences to this

I can’t conceive of people knowing

This and still voting as their grandpa

And papa did.  We need some

Critical thinking.  Parents have

The right to know what their

Children are being taught in school

Whether they are being coached

On transgenderism.  There will

Be legal battles and again we

Will be the laughingstock of the world

Five million illegals have entered

In the last two years.  There will

Be babies born who will automatically

Become citizens, who will vote.

Apparently, we as a nation want this

Votes are counted in one day or one

Month depending on what state

You are in.  This should not be.

Our founders must be wondering

God help us all as we move forward

Wind, sleet, and rain.

This a sure sign that winter is near

A truth we can rely on

With no need to fear

The mid-term elections are over

But the counting of votes goes on

Systems of voting vary in each state

Some send ballots out for early voting

Whether requested or not

Many do not trust this system

Deceased people may vote only once

Identification is not always required

Canvasing with ballots and helping

The unaware residents’ vote is

Not a legal method, but goes on

This to the dismay of many

Voting on ballots before the debates

Does not make much sense, especially

If the candidate dies or develops

Health issues as in Pennsylvania

Some electors do not watch the debates

Especially if cartoons are on another channel

They claim there is not much difference

And already know how they are going to vote

If it was good enough for grandpa and dad

Then it is surely good enough for me

Why employ critical thinking

It is easier to accept inflation;

High energy prices for heating;

High fuel prices for driving;

Shortages of many items;

Including baby food;

High-interest rates;

Begging foreign countries to lower oil prices;

Accepting our government’s ban on drilling

For oil, natural gas; and mining coal;

The loss of high-paying jobs;

Five million illegals; a hundred thousand

Fentanyl deaths; human trafficking;

Welfare costs for the illegals

These things we can accept if only

Our side wins legally or otherwise

The day was nasty

No sun

Fog

Gray clouds

Rain

Snowflakes

Then I thought

There is beauty

A different look

Difficult task

Rewarding when

You see it at last

The sun breaks through

Momentarily

Enough to lift you

Change your point of view

There is always beauty

Just a different kind

Make a point of searching

Seek and you will find
