WHAT I SEE

We have just a few weeks before the year’s end.

As we look about we can see an array of beauty.

Some days will be gray and depressing,

but beauty can be found.

Each leaf is a miracle.

Each wave is a song.

We are blessed people and for

the most part get along.

We care for each other and

for those in the fringes.

We are generous, but still,

there is much more that

we could do if we apply ourselves.

There are never regrets when

one helps his neighbor.

Not everyone is as fortunate as us

and if we refuse to recognize this or

our responsibilities, then the lowly

and deprived are better off than are we.

Nature, in spite of all its loveliness,

sometimes raises its ugly head.

This year many people have lost

their lives, their families, their homes

and businesses because of floods and hurricanes.

People, besides first responders,

have come from all over the country to aid and

help restore some semblance of order

to the affected areas.  We have helped in many ways.

Those who could not physically help,

sent money, food, and water.

There are those in other countries who have also

benefited from our love and generosity.

When we review what we have done to help

a feeling of warmth comes over us.

There is nothing wrong with peace, love, and understanding.
