The atmosphere depression has lifted

The inland sea is somewhat calm

I am surrounded by trees and dunes

The sun filters its golden light through the leaves

Dune grass waves in the breeze

My thoughts reach up to the Creator

The beauty I see is His manifestation

He has given us everything we need

Because of our free will we can accept

Or on the other hand walk away

I do not believe in walking away

He has empowered me to act

I act in positive ways on the fringes

That is where He said His work should be done

Everyone cannot congregate there

It would be chaos, so some must step back

Their help, my help will come in other ways

We will fund the front liners

Who persevere so admirably

While depending on our help in the background

The warmth of the sun is rejuvenating

It fills me with the certainty of His existence

I listen to the songs of nature

They come from birds, waves and the wind

They soothe me and inspire me

I am ready to meditate to the sounds

Other time ready to march to the upbeat sounds

There are no good reasons to be down

I have been blessed with the gifts of opportunity

I know what to do and pray for success

There is turmoil in the world today

We are all aware of the obvious

We do not hear much of the locust invasion

On the eastern countries in Africa and now

In some parts of India; the strife caused

By dictators in some African countries

Babies dying of starvation by the dozens each day

The horrible conditions in some of the Caribbean Islands

But they exist and so does our duty to help

After all He did say, “Follow Me”

One hundred thousand deaths

What kind of fools are we

Election fraud gives us a fool

He is head of a small Mafia

Existing for his own benefit

His son is not investigated

To produce some outcome

For his illegal dealings

Hillary is not investigated to

Bring her crimes to a head

Both seem to be exonerated

At least at the present time

Partly because President Trump

Is being investigated for the

Fourth or fifth time.  The new

Occupant has given up billions

In Afghanistan by following a

Disordered withdrawal from

The country.  This same pale

Man opened the southern

Border by not finishing the wall

Fentanyl has killed as many as

The soldiers.  Energy independence

No longer exists; soldiers are

Committing suicide while the

Speaker of the House is making

Millions by nefarious dealings

In the stock market.  Inflation

Although high can still go higher

And shipping lanes of various

Sorts are being blocked, so

Important supplies needed to

Finish manufacturing cars and

Food for babies and the populace

In general.  When will we ever

Learn.  You see a bird in flight;

A rose unfolding in a garden

And you see peace.  So easy

If we just knew love and had

The courage to dispel ego

O holy Saint Jude, apostle and martyr,

great in virtue and rich in miracles,

near kinsman of Jesus Christ, faithful

intercessor of all who invoke your

special patronage in time of need,

to you I have recourse from the depth

of my heart and humbly beg to whom

God has given such great power to

come to my assistance.  Help me in my

present and urgent petition.  In return,

I promise to make your name known and

Cause you to be invoked.  St. Jude pray

ENOCH

The book of Enoch is not

Included in the regular bible

Some of its teachings were

Found in the Dead Sea Scrolls

When you read Enoch’s words

You can freeze up with fear

Some is so comprehensive

That you cannot possibly

Understand its true meaning

You hope he was on the wrong

Track because we are all sinners

He was the seventh great

Grandfather of Noah

He enlists the angels, those

Being the top of mountain

Of all angels and has them

Give him knowledge of goings on

All is explained to him in parables

They are scary in that they do not

Deviate from a primal command

Which is to obey God’s rules

Those who do not are destined

For some form of damnation

This is vague and I have not

Finished reading his gospel

I know that according to the

Intact bible Jesus was born

About two thousand years ago

He preached and performed miracles

He told us what we should be doing

He was arrested for His teaching

Was found guilty and punished

Severely.  He suffered in agony,

Was scourged, crowned with thorns

Carried His cross and was hung on

It to redeem us for our sins

He did this for His Father and for us

It gives us hope for life everlasting

Glory to God in the highest

The encounters or

The games, if you will

If you win that is great

If you lose the whole

World is wrong

This is not the way it is

You enjoy the encounter

And you honor it

Regardless of outcome

This is real life, the way

It should be.  Everything

Does not always come

Up roses but what does

Come up should be

Appreciated if for nothing

More than the effort

Involved.  So it is in life

Good days; bad days;

Everything in between

It is what we have and

Our thanks should be great

To even be part of it.  It should

Thrill us and inspire us to

Do and be the best we can

We can get by with sloppiness

But what merit is there in that

Honor the victor, the event

And give thanks that you

Were a part of it.  Stay involved

Life will be full and you will be

Happy.  That is how I see it

There was a time

When we exchanged

Poems written day

Sometimes they were serious

Other times frivolous

But it continued for

Four years until an injury

Took place and the mood

Of the whole affair vanished

Now eight years later

I look and read the poems

And my heart breaks

Because it is over

What was so good vanished

Because of an unattended

Head wound and misunderstandings

About it and who was to blame

Chemistry and magic disappeared

Now it is a longing for something

Not likely to be duplicated

That is life.  The story of mankind

There are so many things

We can do that will make

Us better people and

Improve condition in others

And in our community

It does take action and

The ability not to lie to ourselves

“I’m praying on it” is another

Way of saying no, but there

May be a good reason for that

So just admit it and give a

Moral boost to the asker.

Going through a door and letting

It close without looking if

Someone else is coming especially

One handicapped in some way

This little gift of consideration

Means so much and prompts the

Repetition of the act by others

Greeting people and helping them

In the grocery store by reaching

For something they want but can’t

Get to.  Someone drops something

And you have it picked up before

They realize it was dropped

Holding items while the owner is

Trying to unlock his car.

Participating in community activities

Supporting local businesses

Always being of good cheer

Being helpful whenever possible

Do not dominate conversations

Or meetings.  Suppress your ego

Be loving and complimentary

Always look for miracles

Beauty is everywhere, but

Sometimes you have to look for it

So many things we can be doing

Which will fill us up and give us

A happy life.  So many things

I try not to repeat

I try not to repeat

Short memory loss is not fun

Then others insist that you have it

I wonder if they have considered

That butting in just as you are about

To make a point disrupts your thinking

And then you cannot remember what

You were going to say

Later you remember and as you

Are about to explain they cut you

Off again with irrelevant remarks

About something unrelated

It could be frustrating but you

Draw the conclusion that they were

Not interested in the first place

Some are uncouth and have no

Manners, which I realize so I am

Now more of an observer than

A participator

If someone recognizes this and

Claims that I am not engaging I

Compliment them on their astute

Observation.  They have no reply

And just look at me.  I go on about

My business leaving them in a daze

Take it if you will

It is the way to success

And totally uphill

You may laugh and ask why

Wouldn’t some other road do?

Which is the one you would choose

If it were left to you

I have been where you are now

And have heard the same

Those who were helping me

Heard the same refrain

You have to take the advice
