Here we are in the

Middle of summer

Advertising for

Back to school is

Beginning to show

In newspapers and

On television

You can hear children grown

They are not ready

The gardeners squeal

Their plants are growing

As they devise ways of

Keeping the deer and

Other predators away

From their hard work

Which began late in spring

They were happy then,

But nervous now

Some are successful

Every year and harvest

And preserve enough

For a year.  They are good

The rest of us are amateurs

Planned chores for the

Summer are still waiting

All of the, “We’ll do that

This summer”, are still

On the list. Don’t worry

Doesn’t matter because

We still have the fall and

All of next year.  The weeds

In the garden need attention

Weeds are part of life

Things that bother us

That need to be taken care of

We’ll get to them as soon

As we can and then keep

On top of things as they say

Everyone has their problems

And their celebrations, too

Relatives come and go

There is a lot of excitement

Small waves ripple across the lake

There is no major storm, but

Each little ripple represents

Problems that individuals have

Around the world and today

They are syncopating with

No massive eruption or turbulence

In real-time, this is not the case

There are disastrous waves of

Trouble all over the globe

We find them in our own country,

In Syria, Ukraine, Iran, Moscow

North Korea, the Middle East,

Our southern border, Turkey, China,

Africa, especially the eastern side,

Haiti, Central, and South America

Peaceful people are in wonder

They cannot understand the worldly

Obsession with power and control

The systemic hatred that one country

Has for another, the guiltless

Annihilation of people because of

Their religion or ethnicity

I look at the lake and realize that

The lake does not know that

The breadbaskets of the world

Have been disrupted and will

Not be back in operation very soon

Fifteen geese swim by near the

Shore. They are not predators but

Could be prey so they stay alert

Which is more than we, in this

Country have.  We have sat still

While those with Marxist tendencies

Have taken us to the point of our

Demise, where we are losing the

Title of the last great hope

We want our seas to remain calm

But know that they can erupt

Into violent storms at a moments

Notice.  Pray that we wake up and

Follow His precepts

Nothing is shining today
I think you’ll see it my way
We have all had those days
Nothing seems okay
Everything is moving slowly
No matter how hard you try
Only a step away from depression
You want to sit down and cry
You don’t look at everything coldly
It is just that you don’t look boldly
You want to find a place to hide
Something you have often tried
You look for a place that’s dark
Curl up like a ball and park
You fall asleep for a while
In your dreams you smile
You think about that long ride
When out of this world you’ll glide
A noise brings you about
I’m feeling better you shout
You move very slowly
Like waves on a windless day
I’ve got to pick up my pace
I know it’s not a race
But people depend on me
And they don’t often see
Me in this downward state
So I find my slate
Wipe it clean for my sake
I’ll start all over for today
Work hard, find time to play
The sun will come as it will
It’s like my vitamin pill
It energizes me and then
Allows self-admonishment
I review, take it all in
Realize it is not the end
Just a bad day to begin
Turned it around within
I would call that self-growth
It adds to my esteem

Christ died at thirty-three
Wednesday I will be eighty three
He lived publically for only three
I lived that way for seventy
He accomplished much more than I
Wiser, too, although I try
I add to my wisdom ay
Learning from my mistakes
I had good coaches for which 
I will be thankful forever
He did not need a coach
He turned water into premium wine
I honor Him by drinking that wine
He never hesitated to do well,
But also had moments of 
Disappointment and anger
I’ll try to imitate His goodness
I’ll go out of my way to help others
He gave His life for us and our sins
I will give my best efforts to
Help others and try to understand
His followers are being persecuted 
Marxism is growing as the 
Population of churches diminishes
He went to the fringes to teach
And instructed us to do the same
However, we hesitate with little
Exception much to our demise
We proclaim our love for Him
But forget about the fringes
We may not be able to make
The journey, but should support
The groups that are actively 
Addressing the needs of the impoverished 
If we want our upside down world
Turned around we must commit
He committed to us and carried
His cross and then died for us
He told us to love God above all
And love our neighbors as ourselves
Love, a four lettered word
An infallible word for us

We must not let the clutter of life
Interfere with our creativity
If we should we ignore this prompt
We will be able to look back on
A life that was and is dull and
Unsatisfying.  We may take advice,
But have to be our own leader
Doing thing that have to be done
In a way that is exemplary and in
A way that others will want to follow
We may not aspire to be a leader
But that cloak falls on us when
We proceed to move forward with
Our ideas and methods never
Knowing who will follow with
Improvements which will benefit all
We cannot all be the leaders of the 
Parade, but we can be good marchers
And supporters of those with 
Superior moves and talents
When one succeeds we all succeed
If we can adapt to this philosophy
We will have a society that is
Prosperous and exceedingly happy
To deny rightful acclaims leads
To sorrow and depression which
We should all wish to avoid                                                                                                                    
Honor, respect and do good deeds
A good way to do our part and
Be a part of the overall celebration
The celebration which will lead to
New enterprises and growth and
The realization that this is what
Life should be about.  Remove the
Clutter and advance in the areas
Of our expertise

A GOOD ROUTINE
I am very tired, but
There is much to do
No quitting at this time
More a time to renew

So I look at options
Choose a path to travel
Get the show together
Before it begins to unravel

Angels do no waiting
They have their orders
Proceed with every duty
Regardless of hall or corridor

Dark angels get in our way
Encourage us to slow down
Set up obstacles and road blocks
Smile at our stumbling frown

But light overtakes this darkness
We pick up our pieces of courage
What once seemed impossible
Is nothing more than a mirage

I take a breath of fresh air
My load now seems lighter
I pick up my tools and begin
My day seems so much brighter

There is beauty
Look for it

Where is the horizon?
Lost in the haze
It is foggy

Wind is blowing
Great limbs shaking
Pollen and seeds are flying

Grass is growing
Covering well the ground
Greening up nicely

The mower gave out
New one obtained
Battery operated 

Faint shadows give
Hope for the sun
The sky is blue, light
White and gray

Lake waters ripple
Birds are quiet
Nature dominates

We have no say
Can only endure
While the vipers
Rape the citizens
Taking their money

We call ourselves lucky
Having heat and water
As well as food

There are many staggering
On the streets of the cities

No home or shelter
They survive somehow
Huddle together
Keep small fires in pails

The wealthy are bothered
Their neighborhoods are 
Looking trashy 
This is not pretty

Conditions exist 
For many reasons

Addictions, loss of jobs,
Lack of qualifications
Illegal immigrants

Will we learn?
There is a rule of law

Nature is above this
Acts on its own

Animals survive
Instinctively 
They are safe and
Mostly stay quiet

Still beauty prevails
Paths through the woods
Pastoral scenes
Running brooks

Artists tremble
Wishing they could
Capture this on canvas

We stay quiet and wait
Our time will come
To have a say in
This mixed up world

The sky was awesome
Looking up through 
The Birch tree leaves
Blue and cloudless
With the fragrance
And the sounds of nature
One felt a relief from
The chaos of the world
Deep faith was renewed
Unbelievable ecstasy 
No longing for tomorrow
This was today and a gift
There would be time 
For problem solving later
Now we were on a joy run
But the inner feelings
Could not forget 
The downtrodden and
Homeless and hungry
We have so much to be
Thankful for and much to 
Give back to others
This is the task at hand
Outlined by the teachings
We believe in and what
We want to be involved in
It is not an easy task and
Unfortunately is ever present
We have the means and
The desire to follow the One
No one said it would be easy
No one said the sky would
Be so magnificently blue
It was given to us and
Now we prepare ourselves
To give back to the fullest
Of our abilities; sacrifice
May be necessary, but
Haven’t others given of
Themselves for us?
We are blessed people
Not we must pay it forward

Its payday tomorrow

I’m already behind

Don’t know what to do

I day it again, I don’t

Know what to do

I will show up at

The workplace

Can’t use some excuse

Gasoline prices are up

Food costs even more

I’m three months behind

On my water bill and on

The electric, only two

My folks have helped me

But it is catching up with them

And they were the ones

Pushing for the Biden man

He is the Occupant and

Told what to say.  Uses

Cue cards and always keeps

Press conferences brief

Will not answer questions

Only knows the word Russia

Cannot understand that we

Are all under pressure

He defers to his Vice-President

Then we hear her laugh

She and Hillary could form

A duet and sing Stars and

Stripes for never, as they

Push to the left.  They are

Not looking for baby formula

Babies on the border are

Suffering from malnutrition

Blame that on the former

Occupant because he could

Not get the wall started on time

Almost had if finished, but

Joe-Joe called it off, just as he

Has called off my eating tomorrow

Boiled grass and weeds are not

Filling and my car has a flat tire

I don’t know what to do

We are painting ourselves

Into a corner and all according

To the Occupant’s plan.  He

Will reduce access to reliable,

Affordable energy, damage our

Economy, harm to the environment,

And undermine our security

Coal, oil, gas, and nuclear energy

Are needed for back up the

Destined to fail green energy plots

With no wind and no sun what are

We going to do for energy?  How

Many wind turbines are needed

To replace the energy from the

Nuclear plant in California?  Is there

Enough vacant land to house them?

Russia, China, and Iran are laughing

At us as we devote ourselves to

Avoiding climate change.  We can

Reduce emissions, but the climate

Changes on its own.  It is not heating

Up, and if anything is moving toward

Cooling down like it did when we had

A mini ice age.  We need refineries to

Produce gasoline.  There will never

Be enough electrical energy to keep

Our vehicles running.  How many cars

Run out of gasoline at the present time?

Can you imagine what it will be like when

Cars run out of battery energy and the

Line up to replenish their supply.  This is

Insane and to have it mandated is even

Worse.  Winter backups should be a

Real joy with cars running out of energy

The energy needed to recycle and dispose

Of worn equipment will be equal to the

Energy they supplied in the first place

This will be a complete wash.  The reasons

For doing this does not outweigh the

The negative impact.  We should wake up

And will when it is probably too late
