The sky was the same today
Deep blue shading to pale
Ole Sol had something to say
“I’ll warm you up; I will not fail”
Birds were busy; bugs wee pests
Weeds and trimming allow no rest
No plan deliberate; just a plan to work
Rules were not there to be broken
Everything is done by chance or quirk
That it looked real nice– added token
The process was messy, that’s all right
Gathered it all and removed it from sight
Time to relax and drink some wine
We chose the deck by the lake
Sat there and everything was fine
We’re living for our own sake
Soft breeze, warm sun, clouds in the west
No moonrise: too early, but not for rest
Dinner, was so delicious; homemade chicken soup
Enjoyed it watching an episode of mystery
Phone calls claimed their share of the loop
Black bear spotted; first in our history
Stalked around the carport, then out to the road
Now part of a story told and retold
