I was on Facebook and came across
A non-private message indicating that
Our friends of “56” years were here
And planned to stay for about a
Little over a week, including Easter.
I had previously asked them to let
Us know when they were up from
The Lower Peninsula as I did not
Travel their way when I went for
Mail. The note to their egg lady
Written in German-influenced
U.P. language was “cute”, but
Doesn’t mean much when you
Are alone, healing from a serious
Injury, and would enjoy the company.
Maybe it is just the gray day, but
Somehow I feel let down. Especially
With my injury, I hope that time
Heals all wounds.
