Day: April 10, 2022

The words I write do not come

From an intentionally selfish mind.

I try to live up to my duty to others

And to be a quiet example of how to

Live a life that is full.  I embrace

Opportunity and feel I should lead

If possible.  Things do not always go

The way you would like and then my

Objective to be humble and keep

Taking the steps necessary to reach

The ultimate goal.  Trusting in Jesus is a

Big part of my life.  I, being one of His

Human angels, have a huge responsibility

He will not hold me accountable for

Other’s failings, but expects me to council

And rectify.  The Holy Spirit within me

Is a great relief.  I want our world to

Improve and feel I am an important

Part of that movement.  Thanks be to

God, amen.

On the ninth day of the month

We receive the gift of sunshine

That sustains throughout the day

It is nice but has no relative meaning

Because April if full of surprises

Which include blizzards, tornadoes,

Flooding and other disasters.  We

Should keep our complaints silent

And go about doing the business

Required to make the month

Successful in spite of any adversities

It seems as though dull minds can

Only focus on the weather when

There is so much else we can be

Doing if only we had the initiative

To seek out and accomplish in other

Areas of life.  There is much to do

And we easily forget that if we are

All set and others are not then we

Also are not.  Giving respite to others

Is important and lifting others to

Their feet so that they can try again

Carries a reward greater than we

Can imagine.  We waste time thinking

About possibilities instead of acting

Will there be a price to pay for this?

We do not know.  We spend a lot

Of our wealth pleasing ourselves

And forget to help those in need

Or come up short in doing so.  It is

Never too late to begin and beginning

Takes the greatest courage.  Appreciation

Of accomplishments is natural and good

We are proud and want to do more

Which may mean giving up some of

The things we wanted to do for ourselves

Because we realize which has the most

Value.  When we act with determination

We do not have to worry about the sun

It will always be shining brightly

We have more information

In a small hand-held device

Then we knew existed not

Too many years ago.  We still

Remain, foolish people, because

With everyone potentially equal

With knowledge, we are guilty

Of wanting to control.  The

Answers are easy to understand

But difficult to implement

Many feel they are above the process

But could be struck down at a

Moment’s notice if the notion

Were to be taken.  The need to

Be right at the cost of putting

Someone else down is very

Prevalent in today’s society

Just because someone says

Something profound in a loud voice

Does not mean anything in the

Big picture.  The world was

Created equal only to be messed

Up by mankind.  The order is out of line

And the resolve to correct this, if

We could, is absent.  With abundance

Existing almost everywhere, why is

It necessary to want more and be

Willing to sacrifice life and limb to

Obtain it.  Applying the same effort

To equalize everyone and everything

Would be a far better use of our talents

Will this ever happen is the question

At hand.  Looking at world condition

We can only be saddened by the

Upheaval.  Looking at our own country

We cannot be pleased at the way we

Can tear down and destroy.  We seem

To be rewarding evil and chasing away

Justice, which has become political

We undo successful enterprise and

Ignore opportunities to make things better.

Grace and humility may be the answer

This is my word
