A FOGGY DAY

A FOGGY DAY

It snows today

Winds are cold

Gray is the color

Just the mood is blue

What have I done?

I keep asking

I’m a paranoid android

Marching in circles

Mush in my head

Gloom in my eyes

I search for my star

Look to the skies

When it rains it pours

Old words, new meanings

The nearness of you

A thing of the past

I hear the exit music

Yes, I cannot dance

My wait is patient

How long can I last?

The truth, the truth

Sometimes a new word

Then, I’m the light

That’s what I do

Preach forgiveness

Then release

I believed, now

I say, please!

Don’t think twice

It’s not alright

I’m in a London fog

Think I have hope

Nothing for granted

In this waiting game

Death by slow torture

Brings one no fame

Life will unfold

No one laughs last

Regret breaks the soul, and

There is no cast

MY MEDITATION FOR JAN 23

Just a few weeks ago the end of 2021 was near

and a new beginning was upon us.

We have much to do and many have

priorities mixed up in my opinion.

Jesus said “Love God above all things

and your neighbor as yourself.”

Spending money on ourselves as

a church group, updating the mass

and songbooks when the old were

still viable is self-serving.  The money

used could have fed the hungry and

provided water for the thirsty.

We chose or were mandated

to choose the books.

We did not empty ourselves

regardless of the reason.

If we are not empty it is difficult

to be filled up with God’s grace.

How important is eternal life?

To most it is everything.

Even the thought of it is so beautiful

that it is hard to believe.

This makes us doubting Thomases.

The all-knowing Father has plans for

us regardless and we must be

open to them as we make our path

to eternal glory.  We can do with less

while allowing others to have more.

This is what the Father wants.

MY MEDITATION JAN 22

Goodness is what I seek.

Every action I take I want

to first think about so in

the end I can look back

and see the good my path

accomplished.  Many

people are going through misery.

There are many reasons.

I do not want to be responsible

for causing others to be miserable.

I will follow your plan for me this day.

Amen

LAUGH THINK AND CRY

My body aches from the remnants of

the muscular flu and my heart aches at

the loss of my firstborn.

Life goes on and I am surely not

the first or last to flow through

this abyss where you

are not sure of anything.

The winter wakes you up.

Waves crashing make Ice Mountains

and the blowing wind drifts the snow.

You have to laugh because you see the work ahead.

Thinking is important and you work out your plan.

Then you carry it out, look it over, and give it

the finishing touches.  Tools are put away and

then you lay down and cry.  The body in grief, my body

in grief, and the sunset will not settle it down.

So life continues:  We laugh, think, and cry

and should do so every day.

It must be a spiritual thing, but whatever it is it keeps

you balanced and ready to proceed with life.  Winter,

although depressing for some, is a beautiful season and

we meet it as we can.  The young play in it,

advancing their skills and improving their toys until

the day comes when you just seek out the beauty

which is satisfying and sound.

You are thankful in all of these stages.

Today the waves hit the ice-mountains and

 the spindrift flies and delights.

There are not many birds as most things are

covered with snow, so they are where the

brush is thick and they can scratch for food.

The sun is trying to break through the clouds.

I can laugh:  No January thaw this year.

I think it is okay for we will have an early spring

and I cry because I wanted to start from scratch.

Life unfolds and we endure with God’s help.

We go on because that is what we do.

WHAT I KNOW

When I look out at the inland sea and

watch the waves with their strobe effect

coming out of the west-southwest and

see the blue sky and white clouds tinged

with gray, I know that man did not cause this.

If he could we would have perfect weather

year-round, around the world.  Water

crashes the ice and flies up and over,

then landing and adding to the mass.

A magician would love to have this command

but he is only a feeble man doing his best to fool us.

Give them credit though, some have extraordinary

talent and are amazing entertainers.

We can watch nature perform for a couple of hours

in the morning and be knocked over in awe

at the beauty and realize that it is difficult

to understand the straits of nature.

It is 9 degrees F with a wind chill making it

feel like 20 below.  No one is swimming or walking.

The trees are bowing their limbs in agreement.

Stay inside, be warm, and put on a sweater.

Turn the thermostat down; check on your neighbors.

Stay safe yourselves.  We will be alright God does

love gentle, caring people.  He holds a special place

for them just as He does for those causing misery.

Use your time wisely.  January will meld into

February and then March and April.  Where did

The time go we will be saying as we look at all

The work we should have had finished.

We are human, but don’t waste this precious gift.

SICK WITH THE FLU OR JUST SICK

I look out my window facing southeast and

see my moonscape.  It is one-thirty P.M.

and I just got up.  My body aches,

my headaches, and my heartaches.

Ice and snow cover a huge portion

of the inland sea.  There is open water

beginning to freeze.  There is a sand bar

that looks like a Russian Battle Ship

being pushed by Eastern European soldiers

who have been instructed to move it

so it does not get frozen in place.

The Climate Fanatics do not want any more ice,

In spite of their new religion and its beliefs,

there is more ice now than ever before

documented.  But this is the moon.

Private jets do not fly here at will.

The temperature is 9 degrees F.

The men are barely moving and the ship is still,

with small waves hitting it and adding more ice.

The moon is a lovely place.  Its craters are awesome.

An eagle just flew by.  I may be dreaming.

Ill people do dream.  Healthy people dream of

making millions of dollars on their theories of climate.

How many ice ages do we know of.  Another bird,

this time small like a sparrow, flies by.

I get up and check my temperature.  It is 97.5 F.

I wonder about the souls of men who lead movements

that control the actions of others,

making their lives miserable, while the controllers live in luxury.

They know people are suffering because of them and do not care.

There will be answers.  I am not a judge.

It is beginning to get dark and I imagine these dictators

will end up in a dark place.  Did Jesus die for sins of cruelty?

He may have.  We will know soon enough.

In the meantime a sip of Port Wine and off to bed for me,

where I will pray for help to soothe my aching heart.

MY MEDITATION TODAY JANUARY 20

No one is perfect.

Today I hear the story

Of one who in his own mind

Was hustled by an auto repair man

That I have to work on my car.

I may have been hustled, too,

I think as I drive my car away,

But my vehicle runs and

That is what got me

To church today.

I pray for the hustler,

The victim and myself

I pray for respect, honor

And discipline for all

In every situation

I pray for understanding

And forgiveness.  We are

All sinners and no one

Is above the other.  Amen.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

Loss or gain

Tides high or low

Life proceeds and

Clouds or moon glow

Will not cause stop

Enemies or friends

Remembered or naught

Broken or on the mend

Heal and continue

To the very end

The great equalizer

No rules to bend

Dust will be dust

Color does not matter

Nor titles or surnames

That once would flatter

No take backs or healing

All chances are over

Like a racehorse broken

In a field green with clover

No more glory

There is no fame

Forgotten by the masses

Like last year’s big game

While we are moving

Is the time for action

Life’s gift is whole

Treat not like a fraction

Work needs to continue

On a full-time basis

Excuses don’t count

Results make your cases

Pride is personal

Humility has its place

When you give your all

There is no disgrace

A NEW STASH

Sometimes I wonder

How many hordes of

Uncirculated coins

Are in the country

It is claimed that they are

Previously undiscovered

And in limited supply

It seems that every year

A new find is made

Then advertised as

The final chance to

Get these outstanding

Coins, a piece of history,

While the supplies last, and get

Them at ridiculously low prices

You can feel safe

Because you are buying

From the most trusted

Supplier in the country

There is no charge for

The lessons thrown in

And now and then

A free coin is given

To qualified buyers
