THINGS I WRITE

I write everyday no matter the season
I write about how things are
Things such as:
The open border; the closed pipeline;
The ban on drilling; the suicide rate of 
Our military personnel; our failing schools
Disinformation from our mainstream media
I do not think these things
Are political statements
They are what exists
People sleeping on the streets
Homeless for various reasons
Failure to address these
And many other conditions is wrong
Even if we talk about it while 
Celebrating Christmas
We live in a sinful, broken,
And unfair world filled with
Regret, anger, and death
Situations that can only 
Be resolved by the grace of God
We can work toward
Peace and justice, but 
Ultimately the resolution will
Be through the hand of Jesus
This is the season of His birth
He taught us many things
Briefly stated he taught us to love
Love is a powerful four letter word
It is sad that while we are celebrating
His birth we are also appealing to
Him for His intercession into 
The conditions that presently exist
Happy Birthday!  Now please help us!
There is purpose to everything
We must be patient and prayerful 
And work on the things in front of us
Which when attended to will help
Improve condition and also give
Glory to Jesus who was born so
That He could eventually die on the cross
Our gift to Him would be to stop our foolishness
And help Him bear that heavy cross
