Forewarned is forearmed.
An old saying, but holding true
We think, so many times,
That we are prepared.
We are flying high; confident
Then is may occur to us that
We have very little control.
A new life pops up every day.
The sun will also shine for us,
But some days will start out
Gray, bone-chilling cold, with
Sleet and hostile winds blowing.
What an ugly day, some will say,
But the wisdom from an old man
Will interject, “No, it is a beautiful day;
Just a different kind of beauty.”
The words sting us because they are true
And we are ashamed that we forgot to look.
This sounds so familiar and we often find
Ourselves backtracking and taking second looks.
We see our errors, our oversights, and are sorry.
We are thinking of ourselves and
Have forgotten our duty to others.
We must respect them.
It is our duty to help them.
This may take us off our course we think,
But really it is the course we must take.
Otherwise what is life; what gives it meaning.
An old man said that life is the four seasons.
If you have seen the seasons then you know life.
You know the seasons are not the same for everyone.
Many are suffering through no fault of their own.
They are on the fringes and remain there through
All of the seasons, waiting for help (from us).
The seasons remain the same for them.
As followers, we should be there, at least in spirit,
Doing all that we can to improve their condition.
This is one precious life, a miracle that we are living.
We must give it meaning, by our loving acts for others.
Every day we should laugh, think and cry.
Now we are forewarned and ready to take the steps.
