TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY MEDITATION

TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY MEDITATION
Just days and weeks around the time
Islamic terrorists attacked America and
Then the debate on how we would respond
Many lives were lost on ground zero and
We will never forget or revise history as
Many socialists are now trying to do
If one listens carefully they can hear
The echoes of George Washington’s
Prayers of thanksgiving and request for
God’s continual support at Valley Forge
Now we are seemingly abandoning God
Even while Christians are being
Persecuted and slain around the globe
They along with the Jews and Armenians
Should be kept in mind as we push too
Far away from the One we need in our lives
There may be a crack in the bell but that
Is how the light gets in and it is the light
Which will overcome all darkness and in
The end the chosen will be separated
From the chaff. The Word will be supreme
The parts will finally equal the sum
We must not stay asleep for our fate
Is not on our schedule
Washington was on his knees when
His prayers to God were overheard
What better example of humility and
Leadership. Let us remember our
Fallen heroes and be ready to sacrifice
For others as did the Man from Galilee

HARD TO EXPLAIN

I sometimes like to write
Down some of the mysteries
That prevail in all of our lives
These cover many things over time
And in many areas of life
Why do you tear up seeing sentimental events,
such as veterans marching in a parade
Why does it crack you up when you see someone
trip and fall? You could wind up on the floor laughing
Why is there so much neglect and then
a modicum of concern when it has become too late?
Why is winning a sport so much more important
than respecting it?
Why do we waste so much time watching comedy
shows instead of studying and learning?
Why do we not know more history and
have so many unread books?
Why do we have a president fall asleep at
a climate change meeting in Glasgow,
taking no credit for our improvement?
In reality why are we making a fuss about
something we have no control over?
Climate Change is a joke, an ideology, a religion,
and a money making device for the men in dark suits
flying their private jets all over the world
to receive awards for their efforts.
It would be funny if it weren’t so sad.

Why are some people, politically orientated,
blind to the truth of what is happening over our land.
Why is critical thinking abandoned when it is
more convenient to disregard the truth?

We must show up. Taking notes gets you nowhere and
the defeat of Socialism is the where we must and want to be
Power and authority belong to informed people.
We must lead with truth and logic.
Do not be afraid! We will survive

LIKE DREAMS THAT COME TRUE

Someone liked a poem
I wrote, which added to
My joy. When one is
Moved positively by acts
Of nature we rejoice
And thank God for the
Mysterious wonders He
Provides. With God’s grace
We can see opportunities
And act upon them
Joy comes in all forms
Even the quiet joy of making
It through a difficult day
Or having food for the family
In the midst of all darkness
There can be joy just in the
Knowing that the light
Will enter and the darkness
Will be overcome with light
In our world today we trust
That God will provide light and
Universal joy and exist and
Prevail. We may all do our
Part and bring light and joy
Wherever we go

NATURE PROVOKING THOUGHTS

Today I saw the fields
Beyond the railroad tracks
On the Tannery road
Sun lightened them and
In the background I saw
Trees and hills that looked
Like mountains. The context
Was the making of a prayer
One I wanted to say
I am sure there were angels
And the angels surely prayed
Joy can be elevational
My joy does not, cannot
Depend on the sun, but
In the knowing that I
Am not alone. I have a
Great trust in the Holy Spirit
And in my fellow angels.
I must step aside and
Not interfere with them
Their work is important
My work has meaning
And value. I am
Short on time, must make
Every moment count
There is no excuse for failure
Even if the sun fails to shine
Life is a precious gift
One to be thankful for
And to be lived fully

ABOUT WRITING

I do not like to begin on the
First page so I skip to the
Second or third. It is
A form of liberation. I feel
Less pressure from within
To begin with a bang.
I write for my own fulfillment
Sometimes sharing when
Doing so may have a positive
Effect on someone
I do not keep track or
Write down in a book all
The things I do because
I believe in giving of myself
Silently. Many do not know
Or even care about all that
I have accomplished in
Trying to make the place
Where I presently exist a
Better improved one
Those whom I have disagreements
With are not aware of the
Things I have done to
Help them. I know that
We will all be returning
To dust and when the dust
Settles nothing will be of any matter

WONDERMENT

Energy within
Always changing
Form to form
Where is the source?
What sustains it?
Will it last?

Are we lost?
Staying stagnant?
Even if triumphant,
We may sway
From good to bad
And back again?

Our strength is
Not a given
There is beginning
Will be an end
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust

We own a trust
Ours to keep
Or to share
With those
Inclined to see
Willing to hear

Never stagnation
Energy won’t allow
Traveling the road
Always uphill
Soon to the top
Then the cross

Death by crucifixion
Energy transformed
To the resurrection
Then the ascension
Gifting us with the Spirit
Infinite energy

ENDLESS SUMMER

Flickering emotions
Like church bells ringing
Hope and despair, a normal thing
The gift given is taken
Replaced by a slow
Peaceful embrace of
The dawn of winter
Not just yanked away
Many moments remain
Just to play and make believe
You had a good thing
Be thankful; do not grieve
It is just a seasonal thing
You will still hear bells ring
Or the peal of train whistles
In the midst of night
Shouldn’t make us bristle
Golden trees just saying goodbye
Crimson lining of the setting sun
Soft whispers of wind
And mild waves still
Give us lingering feelings and hope
The moon rise when full is
Beauty that shakes us to the core
We know that Indian Summer
Will come and go, lifting us
Who could ask for more?
We do, but we have Thanksgiving
Then the tide of Christmas bells
Ringing on every corner
The Salvation Army plead for alms
Promising an early spring in return
The yard is groomed
Days are shorter, reminding us of
The importance of order and soon
We will be watching for the
Magical wand of nature as she
Gives us the early flowers and we
Begin to live all over again
