Before eight o’clock the sun Was a beautiful crimson ball Clouds formed around it Making it spectacular The waves on the lake were Four, five, and six feet high A sight to behold if there was one In town the five flags of America Were flying at attention in formation They all faced the east An observer standing on Cedar Street Pointed this out with glee I congratulated him on being So observant, but he wasn’t there His hat flew off and he was chasing it This fall, autumn season has been A long beautiful season The time for killing deer is Coming to a close and families And friends gathering for thanksgiving There is much to be thankful for Even though many have gone through A rough period of their lives with Sickness and the loss of loved ones Somehow it is part of the Master’s plan We have free will and can be miserable With the blaming or happy with thanks Prayer and action is the answer to Many of the problems we perceive We do not have all the answers, but Can notice when those in charge are Failing for various reasons Our job is to take care of our own Responsibilities and watching out for Those in need incapable of taking care Of themselves in a dignified manner We will need help from those who Tend to have egos and prefer control We all have been charged and are accountable When I go, I hope to see the welcome sign And here angels sing, “A job well done”.
