ZINGERS IN LIFE

ZINGERS IN LIFE

Zingers can hit you hard
When you least suspect
Fill your heart with sadness
Often with regret
Like stones in your shoes
That bother you and
You know full well
There is nothing you can do

You reflect for a while
Evaluate your actions
Add it all up, then
Do some subtraction
Nothing’s quite as good,
Never all bad
That it could have been better
Is what makes you so sad

Human after all
That we know for sure
When we get accept that fact
It is easier to endure
We read and hear that
God’s hand is near
When we learn to hold it
Our purpose becomes clear

MY MEDITATION NOVEMBER 10

MY MEDITATION
Sometimes it is good to suffer heartbreak
Not that it is easy, but takes our mind
Away from our own comfort and we
Can take time to meditate on the
Needs of others. No one wishes to
Lose a friend or loved one; a neighbor
Moving away who you will probably
Never see again. It is not for us
To set the path of others, but rather
Time for us to plan our own path and
Remember who we are serving and
The reasons we should be grateful
For life itself. Christ gave up His life
For us. He left us informed and
Charged us to carry on with the
Holy Spirit, Who will guide us.
We remember this as we heal

DAILY MEDITATION | NOVEMBER 10, 2021
The Blessing Hidden in Grief
What to do with our losses? . . . We must mourn our losses. We cannot talk or act them away, but we can shed tears over them and allow ourselves to grieve deeply. To grieve is to allow our losses to tear apart feelings of security and safety and lead us to the painful truth of our brokenness. Our grief makes us experience the abyss of our own life in which nothing is settled, clear, or obvious, but everything is constantly shifting and changing. . . . But in the midst of all this pain, there is a strange, shocking, yet very surprising voice. It is the voice of the One who says: “Blessed are those who mourn; they shall be comforted.” That’s the unexpected news: there is a blessing hidden in our grief. Not those who comfort are blessed, but those who mourn! Somehow, in the midst of our tears, a gift is hidden. Somehow, in the midst of our mourning, the first steps of the dance take place. Somehow, the cries that well up from our losses belong to our songs of gratitude. HENRI NOUWEN

JESUS CALLING

INSPIRATION - Jesus Calling

by Sarah Young

Focus your entire being on My living Presence. I am most assuredly with you, enveloping you in My Love and Peace. While you relax in My Presence, I am molding your mind and cleansing your heart. I am recreating you into the one I designed you to be.

As you move from stillness into the activities of your day, do not relinquish your attentiveness to Me. If something troubles you, talk it over with Me. If you get bored with what you are doing, fill the time with prayers and praise. When someone irritates you, don't let your thoughts linger on that person's faults. Gently nudge your mind back to Me. Every moment is precious if you keep your focus on Me. Any day can be a good day, because My Presence permeates all time.

Psalm 89:15-16
Blessed are the people who know the festal shout,
who walk, O Lord, in the light of your face,
who exult in your name all the day
and in your righteousness are exalted.

I John 3:19-20
By this we shall know that we are of the truth and reassure our heart before him; for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything.

Jude 24-25
Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

Psalm 41:12
But you have upheld me because of my integrity,
and set me in your presence forever.
