MY MEDITATION FOR NOVEMBER 30

Last day of this month

The month of thanksgiving

We have much to be thankful for

But mostly we just hear chatter

About almost irrelevant things

Noise about nothing

I think of respect and the lack of it

I offer up my arrogance

As evidence of sinful ways

I ask for forgiveness and seek joy

I am thankful that I managed

To get my work finished or nearly so

Jesus loves us all, even the sinners

He has forgiven all sins and looks for goodness

He knows all things

He gave us a free will

We are wise when we think before acting

Amen

MILES FROM WHERE WE THINK WE ARE

Isn’t it just like us?

Thinking that we are the ones

And have it all over the others

The ones who came before

Ones who saw the raw land

Claimed it legally and developed

It slowly, but surely, into the

Dreams that remain of it today

In remote areas that were

Once vibrant and alive

Churches and schools

General stores and saloons

Farmers and their wives and

Many children, some of whom

Died way too early of diseases

Which we now have under control

They were miles from nowhere

But proceeded with their lives

Suffering many hardships; still

Went on as this was the way

Then, over time, other

Communities developed

Closer to the railroads, with

Access to more goods and services

Attracting the pioneers to vacate

And move to where life had

Much more to offer and in a

Similar way life progressed to

Where we have private jet planes,

Arrogance and egos that constantly

Need feeding and people in control

Who think we are racists and bath

Ourselves in the waters of supremacy

It is just like us to forget all the

Hard work and efforts of all the

Settlers and how they worked together

To unite and build community

We, who cannot take two steps

Without checking our I-phones

Think we have what it takes

Maybe we do materially, but

I think we may fall short spiritually

YOU ARE NEXT

Time is marching

It is my turn

Stick around my friend

See what you can learn

I had to study and

Honored what was taught

It carried me a long way

Much further than I thought

The good ones are tired out

Old ones are saying they are through

I’m all you have left

What are you going to do?

Listen carefully to my words

Take them in and contemplate

Do you see the truth and logic?

Manifestation is not easy to sate

Astute and interested parties

Must be the new teachers

If we do not perpetuate the news

Then we are lost and not preachers

A disservice to those who

Sought the path and the way

But never had the opportunity to hear

The Teacher’s word, but just the fray

A large responsibility for those

Who choose to step up and endeavor

A short term effort when thinking

That eternity is not a game, but forever

Meditation

My Meditation for November 29, 2021

Many people were killed according to

The Book of Kings in the Bible.

False gods gave them false hope, but

Good people presented their problems

To God and He instructed His angels

To reign in the armies of the false worshipers.

It is best to find the narrow opening and

Difficult path when the outcome is

In the equation.  Amen.

WRONG TURN

The gift of life is a miracle

Such a precious thing

For it to be wasted for any reason

Is without doubt, a shame

How often do we diminish and why

What could have been?

We lay the answer at the foot of

One of the Seven Deadly Sins

We show our weakness

No miracle in wasting the gift

Nothing precious to be savored

Or looked upon with pride

The difficult ways can prepare us for failure

We learn recovery and continuance

We’re strengthened and acquainted with determination

Out spirit is filled and the cup overflows

Easy paths cannot keep pace

There is no strengthening

No decisions to make leaving us empty

Smiles are replaced by disappointment

Anger and frustration become our guides

Roads chosen are dark, dank, and distant

We trade our light for the fool’s gold

We sell the gift of life to the highest bidder

We find our self alone without a clue

Nothing left, except perhaps

To pray the prayer of a fool

MY MEDITATION FOR SUNDAY, November 28, 2021

Glory to God, and

Also, those who worship Him,

Each in their own way,

There are many judges,

But we must be our own judge.

Our spirituality is valid as long

As we are true to our beliefs.

Man’s rules are not always God’s rules.

Don’t choose impressing man

Over obeying and serving the Master.

Amen.

AFTER THANKSGIVING

Black Friday begins

With all the hype

A gray day

It is damp; the cold is piercing

Some say it is ugly

Others can find beauty

Faces you see do not all look happy

They forgot that life goes on

Joy exists whether happy or quiet

A step back could be taken

To analyze all of our collective gifts

Soon the bodies become relaxed

Other’s horrors are not yours

They must be contended with, however

You offer prayers; keeping advice to yourself

Your own problems seem solvable

You can only control your own thoughts

They will take you to where you should be

Facing up or running away are options

Which will do suffice and carry honor?

The answer is usually obvious

Happy dancers choose the clear path

Those groomed for sorrow take the congested

Eventually everyone arrives at the ending

Temperaments may or may not have changed

It is always up to the individual

One finds misery where another finds peace

I will always recommend the search for beauty

It changes from day to day

You have feelings for those who are dour

But can only wish them well silently

For they do not care to listen

Still they are children of God and

Should be looked after and encouraged
