WALKING THE BEACH

Together walking the beach
Each with a covenant to the other
Felt the bond and God’s mercy
The all loving One was on our side
Step by step we praised
Felt how lucky we were
Then one day it ended
A head infected by a spur
Doctors were alarmed
Condition was severe
Operation successful
Then an allergy to the medication
The beginning of a tortuous blame game
The end to walking on the beach
Stories were put together
Extrapolated to justify the close
Love went to bitterness
No longer friends we were foes
She left me with the job of moving
Did not acknowledge my broken heart
She became a cougar and captured another
He was a lovely one; thrown out and in debt
When desperate you grab for the golden ring
You proclaim you are having a good time
Get caught up in your maze of nonsense 
Make decisions you come to regret
A word to the wise:  Don’t write words
That sound good but bear no meaning
Love, honor and respect is an example
May end in a terrible wreck
Make way for the strangers
Let them walk through and
Follow their own path
It is better to miss an opportunity
Then subject yourself to wrath
I walk the beach alone
Have a conversation with my Brother
The One Who taught me faithfulness
And ended hanging on the cross
He is the Light I follow
And will as He conquers darkness
