The predicted storm passed over Just a little rumbling was heard That was last night and the moon Was lost in the clouds Today the sun shines and The waters of the inland sea are quiet Tiny waves moving westerly The wind from the east moves the Branches and leaves of the trees The sounds of nature are present All of this promises a peacefulness In the midst of a chaotic world Haiti has suffered a severe earthquake They already suffer from the lack of Food and water and other resources There is a continual effort to help them More killings in Chicago to name one city Mayor Lightfoot thinks they are only Peaceful protests as victims are Carried away to hospitals The border is still open to illegals They break the law and are released Never to be seen again There is little joy around the world But we have a new, beautiful day We think about the world There has always been conflict The powerful abuse the weak Wars are over land or religion There will be a reckoning Accountability will take place There will be anguish and the Grinding of teeth and The words please, please will be heard It will be too late Chances were had, but ignored Here, now, birds are chirping The sounds of nature are soothing To our troubled hearts and souls Stanski August 22, 2021 ^
