I MISS STANLEY
I MISS STANLEY Before all the crisis There was a time When I was enthralled by The Poet Laureate, Stanley Kunitz He was a good philosopher Respected by the intellectuals And he understood nature and Also loved his garden He wrote for himself and his Gardens were for his own satisfaction Solutions to internal conflict Came out in his musings and poems Satisfaction with balance came With his passion for the garden He observed and drew conclusions As critical thinking often does He was sometimes frustrated by condition But safeguarded himself by belief in solutions Knowing that everyone would not be satisfied Because control or power was lost Stanley was a dreamer but had foresight He knew potential and how to achieve it He lived in the moment; knew when to move on A hero, now gone, but will be remembered Stanski May 12, 2021 ^
