I never downplay other’s talents But may disagree with their basic thinking I know what leads to possibilities It is not high taxes and overbearing regulations The erudite think this is a good way Bring in more money for government display But the opposite happens; business declines Moves to other countries in order to survive Less revenue; more expense; higher tax A spiral that needs to relax I look for the critical thinker They are on the road as a tinker Anything; do anything – just to survive Wonder if the American dream is alive Others suppressed feed off the government No encouragement to succeed; feet in cement Discouraged and no knowledge of society These souls adjust to government dependency They vote for the left for the sake of security Not realizing they are taking the road to misery I talk to those who seemingly have talent Their concern is limited because they are all right But what about all of that around them What happens when their world collapses? Is there a care; a glimpse of responsibility Will the dollar tip help with all the misery Will the walking away, the turning of the back Make our country greater; restore what we lack I am hungry for justice; have respect for my peers Wonder what I can do to make them see clear I ask, “Won’t you try to change the system?” They react as though it were a church hymn Stanski May 1, 2021 ^

HOW MUCH TAX IS ENOUGH
The top twenty percent Of income earners pay Eighty percent of The taxes We lowered corporate taxes To bring back manufacturing To this country It could be lowered more The results were incredible The occupant knows this But is comfortable with lies He is in bed with China As is his son (No charges against either) Quid quo pro was an honor They fired the SOB The former occupant was Tormented for five years Impeached twice Still did more to Improve this country Than anyone in history FDR was not a hero Neither was LBJ The occupant with Almost fifty years In politics had No record of achievement He is a racist He championed black incarceration His VP raised millions to bail out Last summers “peaceful protestors” He plays the race card Robert Byrd was a hero to him He won a rigged election Then destroyed by executive order A relatively safe border Not perfect, but improving He put an end to the Keystone pipe line Stopped fracking on Government land Costing countless thousands Of jobs and this During a pandemic Wants to raise corporate taxes Which will chase companies to Other countries Thinks we are a racist country Apologies through proxies for Our country and our White supremacy which By enlarge does not exist Wants the taxpayers to Provide free education To everyone including The illegals Gasoline is six dollars more For ten gallons than three months ago That is money I can’t spend elsewhere Food prices are higher because Transportation costs more He is for defunding the police Is on the side of the perpetrators Officers are quitting and retiring In record numbers But the occupant wants us To come together An unify Work out our differences Build back better Stanski April 29, 2021 ^
SAD BUT TRUE
I love writing poems and muses It is a healthy release Many times I can say In a line or two What others can’t say In thirty or more or Even ever There is much to say And I am willing So much truth Has to be told I am not in denial I do not like lies Like the climate crisis Or parading inactivity As amazing accomplishments Handed to you By someone else’s actions I do not like Unequal justice The poor in poor schools Always with the promise That things will get better When we need you again An epidemic covered The need for truth Deceit and fraud Were more convenient Who could argue When they were dead Control was easy When you had the upper hand Defund the police Is not an answer Releasing criminals to Rape and murder again To save them from the Covid-19 But arrest and jail Someone for not Wearing a mask Promises made To provide for free Services that others Will pay for Print more money Tax our grandchildren Can we remove ourselves From fantasy land? Open our borders To illegals and criminals Drugs and human traffic Raise corporate taxes Chasing business elsewhere Competing countries Laugh at us The occupant Almost fifty years With nothing to show Except unfair jailing And an alliance with China Big Guy did it Along with his son Then in one hundred days He destroyed our nation How sad I pray for help Stanski April 29, 2021 ^
A POET I LIKE
I like Bukowski He wrote from life Knew it top to bottom Inside out and outside in He has been down Has been up Liquor and women Were always a part of His amazing existence He had a God Whom he never mocked Understood depression Wrote every noun Verb and adjective Also throw in adverb Respected the losers He had been one himself Received notes from those Who read his stuff Their compliments were good But his chest didn’t puff He knew the way down Was faster than the way up He typed at night When booze had effect Loved his women Until they made him sick Or the wine was gone He had his way Wrote every day He grew older But critics still raved Because of a simple thing He was better than ever Stanski April 28, 2021 ^
SYSTEMIC RACISM
Who are the special people? Those – that is many – who Are from Hollywood use Their status to show they are special They and many who think Like they do are responsible for The so called systemic racism Suppression of the down trodden Keeping them in decaying schools With promises that things will Be improving after the voting And this never comes to pass Free market in education Would improve all schools And the depressed would many Times rise to excellence and Ultimately put an end to Indoctrination and lead With the proper instruction To the return of the nuclear family We are all alike emotionally And desire a happy family, not Always without failings, to be attached to Those against school choice are The systemic racists Critical thinking is encouraged and History is brought to light and We can deal with the Good and the bad and once past this Can appreciate the freedoms that Many of our citizens gave their lives for The bringing back of good manufacturing jobs Is critical to the abolishing the term Systemic racism Stanski April 27, 2021 ^
BEING WHO YOU ARE
One should not try Not to be someone else Like a father he didn’t like Or an uncle or pretend friend But rather strive to be The best of whom you can see Who do you have to answer to? Only yourself if you are true Life is not meant to be lived As a slave to false ambition To fall in line with other’s wishes Or following the normal tradition One should live to the Fullest of his potential, not Without consideration for others Do your best without concern If you are going to get your rest Accomplishment comes with sacrifice Success is not the roll of dice Forget what others expect of you Set your goals not high or low Be who you are – not make believe Do not race away from reality Never look back with dismay Life is not a big stage play Mistakes are made – a truth Recovery is within grasp Then the travel down a new route Be yourself and enjoy the trip Forget the critics They don’t really give a rip Stanski April 26, 2021 ^
