Canadian Geese dip their
Heads and beaks into the water
Pooling on the ground from melted snow
They look calm and at peace
Appearing to feel safe in this
Early spring environment 
It is Easter Sunday; many church goers
Are looking for peace; thankful for
The gift of forgiveness provided by
The risen Jesus.  They are not
At peace with their freedoms being
Eroded by executive orders and fiats
The birds are not threatened while
We cower because the media advises us to
Teachers are under the order of the unions
And Blue State Governors who want to
Resist classroom teaching in another effort
To control the masses and
Keep them in a state of fear
Leaders say follow the science and then ignore it
In the beginning they played the blame game
But the Donald proved them wrong
Now the new occupant is cancelling
All of the good things that were done to
Safeguard our border and now we suffer
The consequences of evil persons crossing
The border into our country – smuggling in
Sex slaves, drugs, murderers and rapists
The geese may fly away, but we are stuck
Until we finally understand and
Take our stand getting our beaks wet

I think, think, and think
Accompanied by
Wonder, wonder and wonder
As I look at the moon and stars
I see what looks like perfect order
Then I think again about our border

Jesus threw out the money changers
He was aware, beyond us, of the dangers
Could see all of the anger
Of those who believe in Christianity
How it provokes our sanity

We have compassion no doubt
But invasion is what this is about
God in the Bible sent out armies
When defeated He was appealed
He said gather more soldiers and stand up

If you don’t protect what you have you will lose it
It is not hard to read between the lines
The border has to be secured
This goes back to the promise of Reagan
We have a process for immigration

Big institutions beyond our imagination
Have had success in breaking our traditions
Hugo Chavez fought to protect his workers
He did not want his fair wages diluted
Was he non-Christian or inappropriate?

No!  He understood the games of the corporations
I think and wonder.  Will we prevail?

I have a friend
A little older than me
Wise in many respects
And who calls me a friend
He is a liberal
I am a conservative deplorable
Still we have discussions
They never involve politics
I believe in respect and
He is entitled to his position

I look at the border
A few months ago it was under control
President Reagan’s agreement was
Finally being met
The border was being secured
By the building of a wall
And the agreement with Mexico
To make those seeking asylum
Wait in Mexico until their court hearings
We were in the best position in many years

The Biden Administration is still deflecting blame
For what is now occurring on the border
His executive orders stopped the wall construction
Opened the border with a broad invitation to come in
Eliminated the agreement with Mexico
The migrant surge is beyond expectations
The occupant could reverse it all, but
He just appoints new czars to look at the situation
His self-inflicted border crisis worsens
I wonder about those who waved his flag

Recalcitrant is a wonderful word
It flows like poetry off the tongue
My friend was the first I had ever heard use this word
It means defiantly disobedient 
This fits the occupant in regards to the constitution
He totally disregards his stated duties
Sadly he is seemingly unaware of what he is doing
Confusion is a constant in his behavior
I pray for a solution to the border crisis
I pray for the illegals from over 100 countries

There have been
Many ideas and thoughts
Which just remained

Some are manifested now
May seem controversial 
But none-the-less have merit

Many people are not willing
To engage in the debate
Why?  Maybe ego

When a better idea or thought
Comes along shouldn’t we
Accept it as long as it does not
Violate our core principles?

It is a human trait to hang on
To what we are comfortable with
Sometimes giving up greater
Prosperity which we seem not
To be able to see

Genius remains hidden because
No problem called upon it for
Solution and we remain culpable 
For our own demise or languish

Counsel may be not understood
Or misinterpreted and then
Rejected with a back flow of
Criticism to the one counseling 

Why take the steps to grow
When lingering in self-pride
Can leave you glowing in your
Own small minded way

It is so peaceful to pause,
Think and meditate and 
Accept reality as it is or
Make plans to change it

What can we cancel next?
The Good Samaritan?
Kindness to others?
Forgiveness?
Why have we lost faith?

Our constitution is sacred
Are we not all endowed with
Certain unalienable Rights?
Why are we so willing to give them up?

Why do we listen to compromised news?
Why do we let them form our opinions?
Believing as gospel everything they say?

One can listen or watch what they want
This right should not be cancelled 

We should cancel the illegal entries
Into the land of the free and home of the brave

We should cancel the occupant’s executive orders

We have no idea who is coming across the border
They are not only from Central America but
From Turkey, Iran, Yemen and 138 other countries

Ninety percent of the Heroin comes through the
Southern border.  Shouldn’t we cancel this?
The cartels from Mexico are pushing people through
Shouldn’t we be cancelling this also?

The cartels are making millions of dollars

Kamala laughs when asked if she is going to the border
This is not the answer freedom lovers wish
Shouldn’t we cancel out this obnoxious behavior?

Donald Trump’s successful policies on the border
Were cancelled by the occupant’s executive orders

We should cancel these policies and
All the other leftist’s Pablum-puking feel good ideas

Two geese sounding like an army
Flew in and then out over the lake
It is spring and they are instinctive
In their, what appears to be
Erratic behavior, for they will
Find the rest of their flock
Even as two they perfect the
Art of drafting, taking turns as
The lead bird on an annual task
They save much energy which 
Will be used to settle down and
Begin again in new surrounds 

We, too, make a ruckus when lost
Hoping to get back to the family or
Sometimes to get away from them
We are not as intuitive and
Do not employ drafting as a rule
Eventually we are successful 
In our endeavors which unites us
Or keeps us at a distance from 
What we perceive a problems

The new season brings many opportunities
Along with these comes responsibilities
We must all keep these obligations in mind
And go beyond our own secure boundary
Illegal entry into this country is a problem
It has reached the crisis point, but
Denied by the present occupant
Illegals are not birds returning 
Because of the season, but people 
Hoping to find relief after hearing promises

Natural disasters, dictators and the cartels
Are all factors in these events which were all
Under control just a few months ago
The occupant ended agreements, stopped
Building the fence and opened the borders
Now we are being invaded by those in need
Along with criminals and Covid-19 carriers
We need an international “FEMA”, as
We are more lost then the geese

Roads and bridges
What about the rest of our money
Climate activity equals infrastructure
And equity, along with reparations 
No one today owns slaves
No one today is a slave, except for
Those smuggled across the border
By the coyotes from Mexico, but
We can ignore that as the coyotes
Are taking care of their own finance

Private home ownership is damage to the earth
Private equity needs to be in the government’s hands
Freedom of speech is under attack
Does America want to wake up?
Stand up?  Get off of their knees?

Let us not politicize everything in this nation
Bit by bit, brick by brick, and layer by layer
We are chinking away at out foundation
Functional brains have stopped working
Whatever goes to help us is what we are for

We open the border and stop building the fence
Cancel All-Star games trying to make a point
Move them to a state which is more woke
Even though voting laws are more stringent
It is not about ethics but about control

The Peach State is no longer peachy
At least in the eyes of the Coke Company
Fairness in elections should be our constitutional goal
The framers would be aghast at what is going on
We are looking for the root causes of this mess

The condition at the border is not a crisis
Men on the FBI list of terrorists are being apprehended 
How soon before they are released to violate again
Why are we looking away, pretending it doesn’t matter?
The Biden Administration is still in denial

Innocent children, being used, are living in piles
Beautiful nations, corrupt with power, are disintegrating 
It is no wonder its citizens are leaving
But we have laws which now have no meaning
Except free food, housing and health care

The occupant invites them – only not now
As they have already traveled the miles
Meanwhile our soldiers are committing suicide - two each day
There is not enough money to tax to pay for this foolishness

I look at the sun on the trees
The late evening sun; just past seven
I see light on the bark
Turning it to almost white
I think:  “What a wonderful world”

Then I switch to an alternative reality
Civil liberties threatened
Children dropped from the border fence
The George Floyd murder case

The left leaning press which does not
Point out the truth, but suppresses it
Too many are needlessly influenced
Because they only listen to liberal-speak

All black deaths are not by white police
The sadness is that the majority of black 
Murders are committed by other blacks
Or persons other than the police officers

I look at the light on the trees
It is not yet eight and still beautiful
I think of Jackie Robinson and Louis Armstrong
Along with Sarah Vaughn and Rose Parks

I do not think color but beauty and heroes
I think it could be a wonderful world
We have so much in common and
It is so sad that we cannot come together
To make this country greater

We are turning in the wrong direction
Marxist socialism is not a lot of fun
It creates equal misery for us all 
When all that we want are
Trees that are green and red roses, too

And people, by their actions, singing out
I love you; what a wonderful world
