We must take care of ourselves
Before we can care for others
The Samaritan took care of himself
And showed us how to care for others
He did not beat about the bush
But stood up and did what he did

We can learn from this man
Who outperformed the Levite and Priest
He was never worried about the cost
But gave not until it hurt, but
Gave until it felt good – this is without doubt
A magnificent way of living

He elevated himself without trying
He just did without asking a lot of questions
Everyone can learn by this example
Not all will rise to the occasion
Some will hide from the opportunity
Too busy with activities affecting them

The truth is not alternated by indifference
We need to seek out and remedy this plague
We have to avoid the determination of the left
And point out the truth of life as it exists
The poets and prophets of the past point out
The fickleness of man as he seeks happiness

It is a vague concept that only comes with giving
And praising accomplishments of those before us
They taught us the lessons of success
No free lunches is what they would express
We must take care of ourselves – the surge
Is pathetic and does not deserve our blessing

It is hard to explain.  I thought
March came in like a lion and
Here it is going out like a lion
Whipping up the waters in the bay
Laying down a few inches of snow
Upon early spring flowers

We laugh because we seem betrayed
We did our part – waded through the winter
Now are ready for kite flying and jumping rope
Our fingers are itching for the digging
Into the soft loamy earth (once thawed)

Nature is not pathological
It just is and we may go from sunshine to
Damaging tornadoes in no time at all
When not affected we are happy campers
And quickly put things into perspective

Nature does not manipulate
Humans by nature try to
But we must endure
Be considerate of others and dig our heels in
Against those whose ideology and wealth
Depends on the climate which is always changing

A volcano eruption has a sparse effect on 
Climate and nature recovers as it continues 
To evolve giving us periods when the earth warmed

Was that good or bad.  Food was more plentiful
So it couldn’t have been all bad as man prospered

Climate is just another gimmick used to control us
I have a greater trust in nature and God Almighty

Radical politicians are to blame
Domestic terror and Marxist tendencies
Are these people really that insane?

Black Lives Matter and Antifa are socialist
They seek to create chaos on our streets
We diminish or ignore history in classrooms
An act of surrender; an admission of defeat

We are not a racist nation, but are
Constantly told we are by the leftist press
Now we witness all of the infighting
How do we allow ourselves into this mess?

Good men must not remain silent
Or progress of evil will have its fling
Triumph over this evil is so necessary
Sir Edmund Burke’s words have a familiar ring

The things that most believe in are
Being manipulated by the powerful few
We judge by character, not color
And race cannot be considered an issue

Socialism brings with it genocide
Look at the records of Mao, Hitler and Stalin
If we do not stand and speak out
We will have no way to count the fallen

I plan my landscape and 
begin the work and proceed 
along as my mind dictates
Then a change in order; 
tall shrub trees  will not be cut down, 
but all of the wild Juniper bushes, 
which are half-dead, 
surrounding the trees
Will be removed.  
It looks good to me
I keep going, thinning 
and removing all of the waste  
I look things over again
There is more to do, 
but this place is 
beginning to look like a park
So many times one gets frustrated 
Because everything does not fall 
into place as we intended
But I play it loose – anything goes
There is no set way and it is 
the results that count
As one project comes to an end 
another one comes to mind and 
then another and another, until 
the whole project is finished
It was a lot of work but then 
any composition is
What you see pleases the eye, 
the ear, and the nose
Nature gave us a canvas 
to work with and we can assist 
until our personal touch adds to 
What has been given to us
It is transformational, both 
to the land and the artist

You didn’t like the script
Nor the choreography
There was a disconnect
No questions about Covid-19
Or why are the schools not open
No calling on anyone who
Might ask this kind of question

The occupant had crib sheets
No fact checking on the truth
No questions on Hunter or
The gas prices or starving
Children at our Southern Border

Joe-Joe gives up on his own sentences
This is not funny – they kept him
Off of the campaign trail, but
Really that wasn’t necessary
Because the fix was already in place

Just look at the border – all of the
Progress previously made shut down
A return to the Obama-Biden Policies 
Now the Harris-Biden policies
The asylum seekers are released 
Into our communities.  They are law
Breakers – we have a legal way of
Immigration – in the mean time we
Had an agreement with the Mexican
Government to hold them in Mexico
Until the time of their court dates

The construction of the border wall
Was halted.  This during a pandemic
We must remember what we have
Forgotten – the constitution is important
So are reading, writing and arithmetic 
Children of all ages, when allowed back
Into the classroom do not need 
Indoctrination about racism or gender

They deserve and are entitled to be
Taught about the greatness of this
Country and how everyone has
The opportunity to succeed
Leftists do not like these ideas
They prefer socialism and endorse
With funding or silence the activities of
The Marxists groups:  Antifa and
Black Lives Matter

Joe-Joe was quiet as American
Cities burned this past summer
These were peaceful protests
George Floyd should never have
Been murdered by the policeman
This goes without saying

Kamala got up on her feet and
Raised millions in bail money to
Release the offenders in jail
There will be no justice

Victories are possible
They should be promoted
Kamala laughs and Joe-Joe stays
In the basement bunker

You do not know who you are
In your own eyes – a failure
But in most others – you are a star
You have been a giver, not
Concerned about the cost
A fighter for your community
Of which you care for the most
That is except for you family
Whom you obviously adore
Your pride for them sparkles in your eyes
They are foremost in your life
Still you wade through rough waters
Where you hope to find compatibility
In a place we may call the ego city
You have given and continue to do so
Take the risks which positions your flow
You dazzle, accomplish with silent flair
That is how you like it only few know you there
It is a crazy world in which we exist
You give to it your special twist
Make things happen that others ignore
You think about that distant shore

When the One Who counts gave instruction
Seek out the needy; give them your protection
Give of yourself for the sake of others
Their needs exceed your need for covers
This task you identify with and work
Hard amongst conflict, which seems absurd
When the final toll is taken and they
Measure all you achieved in stride
You can step up on the platform and bow with pride
You are a special one – a chosen one
And when you look back you will say it was fun
But not without your sacrifice – but then
You understand the surrender of Christ
You are a beauty, the salt of the earth
The angels will be waiting for you
When your time here is over; smiling with mirth
If only we could really seek out the truth
You would be there in the broadcast booth
Nothing to lose; singing out praises 
You are a daughter of heaven
Undertaking your duties on a field not even
Your smile will melt the hearts of the angels
Your truth serum will last through the ages

Over the years
When times are tough
I watch commercials
Promoting systems
That help you lose weight
Or go to a resort
At a discount price to
Enjoy all the amenities
Beyond our ability to process
And at the same time
We know that people are
Starving and thirsty in
Haiti, Nigeria, Syria 
And other places
We are so commercial
And at times oblivious to
The needs of others
People attend religious services
There seems to be a lack of empathy
For those truly in need, but
An emphasis on raising funds
For the local interests where
By enlarge, we are reasonably covered
What did Jesus, a Jew, have to say?
“Go to the fringes and serve;
The Holy Spirit will be with you.”
Do we need prompting beyond this?
We celebrate true heroes
Who bring tears to our eyes
Some have died serving us
While we worry about appearance
Do we need an ad from Jesus?
Or are we willing to bear the cross
We have so much potential
No one said that it would be easy

Silence is not all bad
Be at peace without speaking
Let your thoughts swirl in meditation
No need to speak out your thoughts
Listen to what nature says
You walk through the woods
Realization takes place – you
Do not have to speak – just listen
Your thoughts are valid and
Remain within you – no need to speak
A solid growth through meditation
There may be a time to express your views
But until then remain silent
If you know you remain silent
Those who do not know speak out
Potential good thoughts become corrupted
As they are often misinterpreted and
Unintended consequences result
Relationships are fractured and healing is slow
Silence is not all bad – it is desirable 
Involvement is a personal quality and often necessary
Progress is sometimes complicated because
Too many in the program speak out
Silence and hard work may be a better alternative
There is great joy in being at peace with yourself
