The oneness of us all Does not have any influence When we point out our diversities How different are we From each other could be the question What is our number? Would be the answer Yet, we have one sun, giving light On one day, which will have rhythms Different for each of us who Have our own politics, religion, and methods But, none-the-less will answer to and be watched over By that Spirit in the sky, today and all days When did we become so arrogant, elevating ourselves As individuals or collectives to a superior position Than those who have come before? We have the same stars and moons The ocean tides change the same Days begin and end like birth and death Who can proclaim aloneness or credit when So many came together to advance our state of being Relying on the grace of the Holy Spirit We proclaim and draw swords, divide and conquer Live wretched lives that have no ethic and in this midst The Spirit, somehow, moves us forward and allows us error What is life? If we have seen the seasons we have seen life Pockets are picked while a pickpocket hangs at the gallows When will we learn what is important? The Spirit waits, Does not intervene. We have free will. It is up to us We will release our anxieties and believe the words we speak Forgive in truth and live fulfilled, when we reach for His hand The Spirit in the sky - - - waiting for us, waiting for that day Steve Haarman aka Stanski February 11, 2021 ^
