ODE FOR SURVIVAL

Music is playing

I am writing

News max is on TV

My mind slows down

I think of the songs

The styles of the artists

They do a great job

I hear the fraud exposures

Hundreds of witnesses

Swearing to the truth

Under the penalty of perjury

I wonder where it’s going

“I’m Your Man” is sung

In a Leonard Cohen style

But as Clinton said

Close, but no cigar

Thinking about the world

I get a sinking feeling

How does all the corruption

Exist to the extent it does?

The need for power

Dictators love to control

The music is soft and soothing, but

Deep down I have a sick stomach

I do not feel secure

With the possibility

That our country can

Survive under socialism

Governors are learning

Because of Covid-19

That fiats are useful

In controlling people

Violators are jailed or fined

While criminals are set free

Because of Covid concerns

They are free to break real laws

The television is turned off

And the CD is finished

I put down my pen

Say a prayer to God

Ask for His guidance

We must preserve the

Last hope for freedom
