You quietly listen for what cannot be heard
Free will exercising leaves you with fear
And you wait for someone to say okay
That’s all right what you did
Never mind
No one is to know, but
You know and
Waiting will be in vain and
Your guts will growl until you
Make peace with your soul
There are no voices to sanction devil’s play
 
Arrogance has lifted you to new heights
Self-worship has you standing on
The dung heap of fools
Reality will bring you down to gutter level, but
The smell remains until you bathe yourself with clean water and
Then walk away from frivolity’s claim
Rough riding days are over
No one left to hold you up
You have worn out those who carried you
 
Abandonment of principles is easy
Till no one is left to pave your way
Then you want to listen for answers
When you call out for help from this play
Don’t wait too long
Begin what you have to do
A trip back to basic truth
Reacquaint yourself with the precepts of life
Refresh yourself and know that
Engagement with responsibility is necessary before
You can take your place in the sun

A wonderful gift
Teaches us so many things
Patience
Obedience
Humility
Caring
Charitableness
How to get along alone
Admiration for the President
The main stream media lies
That blue state Governors act
Differently than red state Governors
People follow their prejudices while
Turning their back on the truth
That Walmart is okay but Mom and Pops are not
Pumpkin patches will no longer exist
Because they are calling off Halloween
Transparency is just a word
People of faith are real
As are agitators who cannot see
That the desire to be right is paramount
Death comes from many causes including abortion
That the desire to spend other people’s money is an addiction
Indoctrination is still ramped
Goodness still exists
Light will overcome all darkness

Our country will come back
We just do not know when
In the meantime there are opinions
Many have them and express them
A great many just follow the rules
They are not happy but understand
Avoid crowds, safe spacing, and wash hands
Wear masks and be considerate
 
Demonstrations are put offs
Seem to do more harm than good
Citizens feel they have the rights
So we have a sequence of protests
We are in this for over two months
More time is needed to make conclusions
People understand all of the reaching out
Laboratories are working on cures
 
We are a weary society
We want to get back to work
This is a normal response
A sign of maturity which is good to see
This is happening to us and
Now we have an idea of disaster
It is easy to close our eyes
To worldwide needs of others
 
A trillion dollars is a lot of money
Politicians love getting their hands on it
A beautiful opportunity for paybacks
Do we want to take taxpayers money?
Then use it to bailout states which misused
Money that was to fund retirement benefits
People have the right to vote, but
Keep choosing the abusers
 
Budgets must be balanced each year
We cannot tolerate mismanagement
Efficiency must be employed so
New crises can be met without panic
No more handouts or failed infrastructure
We are on notice; it is time to act

The truth is hard to accept
And because of inconvenience
It is easy to point and blame
But this is an epidemic
No one has faced anything like this
We take all the steps possible
With the information we have
Make decisions based on knowledge
Some truth has been blocked
Bad decisions made
People grow uneasy
The lock down has been shattering
It is time to open up
Pay attention to what happens
We can always re-quarantine
Then open again and be vigilant
Much less costly then
Paying people to stay home
Businesses need to be opened
People need the feeling of being involved
They want to give and not receive
There are some who would rather take
But they are in the minority
Who is tracking the money?
Where has it gone?
The swamp is still active
People enriching themselves at
The expense of the taxpayer
The government has to take money in
Grow the GDP.  Quit passing costly bills
Clean up the swamp, quickly
Get off the President’s back
Build the wall; build the military
Cut the worthless spending that
Has been going on for years
$30 Trillion is scary
Doesn’t half to be unless you are from the swamp
Our country is worth saving
We need serious guidance
May Day should be a celebration

It is late
Sun is down
The night is dark
People are enduring
The Covid-19 guaranteeing
Many are receptive
Understand the potential
Others are tired
See the odds in their favor
Are following guidelines
But don’t like violation
Of First Amendment Rights
The variation of judgement
Freedom here
Helpless there
Conditions the same
No understanding
The numbers are misleading
Lean toward outright lying
We do not need AK-47 guns
To carry at a state protest
Bullies and showoffs are not heroes
People are working at essential jobs
They are exposed because
Inconsiderate people exist
Complaining about situations
Brought about by the Chinese
Don’t blame the clerk
Or the manager
Don’t blame the mayor
Or the people who care
Follow the good rules
Express your narrative
When the time is right
In the meantime
Help others when you can
Keep your head down
Your left arm straight
A slow back-swing
And a high follow through
Take your mask off and cry “Fore”

I do not live on an island
But life is pretty much like that
I live alone, except my daughter
And her son are with me for a while
This is real nice but being alone
Still overwhelms me
I can handle most situations, but
With the pandemic, everything seems worse
The trouble with these times is
You never know where the truth lies
There are the “Christian People”
Who claim the President is a fraud and
The virus is his fault and totally
Disregard all of his accomplishments
Even while being investigated by the Senate
And being exonerated and then at great cost
Investigated by the Mueller team and
Again exonerated, but impeached for
Unimpeachable charges and found not guilty
 
He started up the economy, bringing
Manufacturing back to our country
Reduced unemployment, increased
Employment; ended regulations
Began rebuilding; increased GDP
Saw the Stock Market soar; ended
Foolish affiliations; established new ones
Reduced taxes and has much more to do
The Covid-19 situation upset more
Than one apple cart.  States rule
Essential businesses only
Walmart but not Mom and Pop
And the list could go on
Hospitals empty
No elective surgery
Abortions though are okay
So I sit still waiting
Listening to wisdom
Listening to the absurd
It will end; it always does
