Quiet and listless
Several days in a row
Sunshine only a maybe
In the later stage of the day
The sky and lake are gray
No horizon can be found
The water is smooth, glass like
No wind blowing at all
Nature is singing no songs
If she were they would be songs of pain
The lichen on trees refuse to glow
This is all part of the waiting game
Be patient in waiting
I have said that before
But it made sense when I said it
It doesn’t now or forevermore
And then last night
Clouds blocked the light of the moon
All of its promises lost
It was to be large and pink
I looked and searched, but
Just a bright nighttime gray
A sickly-looking exasperating sight
No sound, but then the peal of
A distant nighttime train
The sound was eerie
Matching the way I felt
Weeks of isolation 
Nothing to promote energy
And with all those things to do
The world has shut down
Nothing left but an empty feeling
And the look of a sad circus clown
Now it is a little later in the day
Still no sunshine; not even a ray
A slight breeze lifts slowly the flag
With colors still brilliant even though
I remain sad

I am so tired of all the disinformation
Flooding the main stream media
Lie after lie is being presented as fact
I am not a card carrying Republican or Democrat
Just a gun slinging, bible thumping, deplorable
It is so disheartening to see the members of the swamp
Selling their souls to Satin for a taste of the forbidden fruit
Lobbyists are having their way with these statists
 
So many (so called) public servants are being bought off
Who does the buying is a question often asked
It is Big Education, Big Pharma, the ALCU, Big Insurance,
The Chamber of Commerce, Green energy, and
Many, many, many, more
 
Money is thrown around like it grows on trees when
In fact it belongs to the tax payers in this country
We have the income tax and social security tax, but also
Many hidden add on taxes as products make their way to market
We also have property taxes, sales tax and luxury taxes
Unnecessary regulations add to the costs and often
Deny many the chance to compete or even get started
 
The esteemed senators and representatives vote on many issues
Their votes collectively can change the nation
There are many who have not sold out
They still have their voice but are often subject to pressure and
Cannot advance if they do not fall in line so to speak
There are many disappointed constituents on both sides of the aisle
Who are beginning to realize that their parties have abandoned them
It is them, the statists, versus us, the deplorable and malcontent
 
Instead of holding their political ground and fighting each other,
People should realize that their party has changed and
Is not their grandfather’s party anymore and will not be soon
What once was is now gone forever
New identities should be established
I would suggest the party of the Swamp and the party of the Deplorable
You could vote for the enriched candidate or one who takes your interest to heart
A new era would unfold
