I woke up and checked the clock
Had slept most of the day
Must be a bug or something
Now it is almost 2 A.M.
Thoughts run through my mind
I am happy and I am sad
Happy about my perspective and
Sad about the world condition
We celebrated Halloween for about
A month in Manistique
Decorations were up early and
Survived all the storms
People wore costumes to work
One minister said he didn’t wear them
For him, I thought, they weren’t necessary
Why does my mind work like that?
He is a nice man and no malice was intended
No one trick or treats in my neighborhood
Not enough residents at home to make it worthwhile
One year I bought a bunch of pencils decorated with pumpkins
I had them all four years later and dropped them off at the library
They had a good laugh
