 Baseball is still the game
 Strategy plays key
 So many variables
  
 Finally the playoffs
 Designated hitter versus
 The thinking of the opposition
  
 This is what we have
 Whether we agree or disagree
 It is still the World Series
  
 Excitement permeates
 Gamblers go crazy
 What are the odds?
  
 I say this
 Let’s go back fifty years or so
 You play nine men
  
 Substitution is determined
 Good managers prevail
 When to pull a pitcher
  
 Or sub for a pinch-batter
 The outcome is the ball game
 Depending on execution
  
 That was then
 This is now
 Still exciting
