DIGNITY

.
We love little children
Are filled with compassion

When it comes to illegal aliens
We are full of hypocrisy

There is legal immigration
People wait in line for their turn
Endure considerable hardships
Their children with them
They wait and wait

Meanwhile illegals
Crash the border in violation
It is a strategy
Are the children related
To the adults they are with?
Most of the time not
Then the scream of separation

MS-13 gang members
Most are here illegally
They kill, rape, and abuse children
Where is the outrage

Fake news is silent
Hollywood is silent
On the trail, but off the rail

Scream no new wall
President denied 6 billion
However 186 billion later
We house, feed and provide health care

What is wrong here?
How about the angel moms
And the angel dads?

Make peace with yourself over
The 70,000 deaths each year
From the illegal fentanyl

How do you feel about
The sex traffic?
What does Hollywood Say?

What does the swamp say?
Open the borders
Treat illegals with dignity

Ignore the cost
Continue lies
Forget sex traffic

Export talented legal immigrants
Disregard the angels
The weeping parents

Broken families
We can help
Secure the border

Teach by leading
Show how democracy works
In spite of negativity

Let us live by faith
Love the invaders
But put it to an end

Bring our nation to normal
Let precepts rule
Dignity for everyone

BASEBALL

 .
A nine inning nervous breakdown
That is the October playoffs
“Hail Mary, full of grace”, we pray

Baseball is still the game
Strategy plays key
So many variables

Finally the playoffs
Designated hitter versus
The thinking of the opposition

This is what we have
Whether we agree or disagree
It is still the World Series

Excitement permeates
Gamblers go crazy
What are the odds?

I say this
Let’s go back fifty years or so
You play nine men

Substitution is determined
Good managers prevail
When to pull a pitcher

Or sub for a pinch-batter
The outcome is the ball game
Depending on execution

That was then
This is now
Still exciting
Go team!

BEAUTY

.
There is always beauty
Sometimes very obvious
Other times you look for it
But it is not ours
It belongs to nature
Although we would like to claim it

On a cold, bone-chilling and snarly day
A woman said, “What an ugly day”
An old man passing by remarked:
“No, just a different form of beauty”
When we can agree to this
We connect with our limitations

Nothing to be ashamed of
Nature is beyond our comprehension
We are limited, but must keep looking
And be amazed at what we discover
Never stop looking
Beauty is always lurking

CLIMATE CHANGE

.
The erudite scold us
While belching CO2,
A so called poison
Into the air as
They fly private planes
From place to place
On the campaign trail
Don’t you do it, though

If they implemented
All of their green only
Energy strategy
They would wipe out
The country as we know it

The lexicon of the left
So predictable and dangerous
Ban fracking, ban straws, ban burgers
That is for everyone else
Not themselves

If humans could cause climate change,
Which has been changing since
Before mankind knew what it was,
Then they could also stop it

The predictions and lies keep coming
New York is still above water
Where is Ted Danson now?
Where is anybody
Are they standing up and
Taking a bow?

HOW BEAUTIFUL

.
People will kindly remark:
“How beautiful the landscape”
I always thank them
But know the beauty lies
In the shrubs and plants
I had nothing to do with that
And I, too, see the beauty
What I do is provide the backdrop
Hopefully it will be favorable
The circumstances change at each site

I have a soaring spirit
Embrace the landscape
I think of my immortal soul
The backdrop I must provide
For the beauty that I hope is there
When my King and Judge observes

NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION LIFE AND OTHER ABSURDITIES

.
The rifle association of the nation
Is being smeared by the fake news
The press pretends to be against guns
A violation of the Second Amendment
The organization was founded
In New York City in 1871
It is an advocacy group for gun owners
Informs its members of fire-arm legislation

Has lobbied for and against legislation
Around six million self-reported members
Charlton Heston was a leader and
Marched with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
At the time of his “I Had a Dream” speech
People own arms not because of the NRA
But because of Second Amendment rights
They are people with traditional American values

They are not domestic terrorists
They believe and encourage background checks
It is said we do not need military type guns
Most members would agree with this
But more people are killed with knives
Than with AK-47 rifles
Let us apply critical thinking to this
Stop all of the distracting hysteria

Illegal aliens have committed many crimes
Human traffic is ramped coming from the border
Illegal Fentanyl is killing 70 thousand annually
President Trump asked for 6 billion for the southern fence
He was denied by Republicans and Democrats
So far we have spent over 184 billion dollars
Providing food, shelter and healthcare to illegals
How insane are we and when will it end

WALMART

.
Walmart seems like a great idea
Big box store with every item at a great price
Became a big buyer and demanded better deals
People in small stores cannot compete

These small stores employed people
Paid them a living wage
Many times provided benefits
Knew their customers by name

Part of a cohesive downtown
Looked out for people in trouble
Provided gifts to local causes
Became a destination for shoppers

The Walmart family is one of
The richest in the country
Their stores are successful
Cannot be denied

Our downtown shops are closed
Fair wages are gone; benefits gone
Walmart stores succeed
China manufactures their inventory

The China workers work as slaves
Walmart workers are underpaid
Hours are cut to avoid benefits
The Walmart family is very rich

The old down towns are ghost towns
Many former workers are on assistance
Paid for with your tax dollars
The Walmart family if very rich

Sales below cost drove others out of business
Empty stores allowed prices to rise
Neighborhoods lost their identity
The Walmart family is very rich

The face of America has changed
Production in China at slave wages
Employees at Walmart at minimal wages
The Walmart family is very rich

We walked to neighbor stores
People knew who others were
Now we drive to Walmart
Neighbors are basically strangers

We buy and overbuy
Things are so cheap
The Walmart family is very rich
Where did our country go?

U.S. manufactures closed
Could not compete with slave wages
Or Chinese government underwriting
And manipulating their currency

We have our Walmart, but
At what cost to everyone
Think about it
The Walmart family if very rich

MORE DREAMS

.
What would happen
If dreams came true?
Would there be caution
Avoid becoming blue
What would you dream?
A solid question
I would dream of heaven
No hesitation

I’ve been in joy
Looking at the sky
Around a campfire
With friends who just sigh
The sun’s final color
Peaceful waves lapping shore
If this was like heaven
Would I want even more?

Dreaming is wonderful
Wonderful and warm
Reality is stark and
Rigged is the norm
If dreams could come true
Our planet may be peaceful
Truth would be prevalent

I dream of many planets
Much like our earth
People like us existing
It sounds like Dicken’s mirth
If it was a dream
All these earths were true
Wouldn’t we strive to be the best?
Isn’t that what we’d want to do?

But dreams are dreams
And so reality rules
Let’s improve that in front of us
Leave the negative for fools

VIBRATIONS

.
I am opening up
Trying to cause vibrations
Positive vibrations
That travel to others
Improve condition
Plant the seed of hope

This is one life
We must live it
Catch our glimpse of heaven
Define our goals
Enlighten others
Be the path finder

I see a pink-blue sky
So uplifting to artists
I look around
For signs of protest
No sign at all
Everyone at rest

Positive signals
We’ve become gentle and kind

WHY COLLEGE

.
I went to college
Received a degree
My six children
Went to college
A few completed
The others didn’t

Is it really needed
Other than for parties?
All information is on
The computer – all knowledge

Humanities and Civil Justice
Need not be learned only
In the ivy covered Halls
Which you eventually leave
With an immense debt

Physicians need the experience
Engineers desire the guidance
Real experience is on the job
Know-how is available
Outside the Hallowed Halls

But education is big business
Their endowment moneys
Would make a great dent in
Our national debt

Unfortunately we are sheep
Following the conventional
Over the cliff to our own demise
